IMO, Capcom is so far one of the most, if not the most, important developer this generation.
And i mean this based on 3 games to be released...Megaman 9, Bionic Commando Reloaded and 1942: Joint Strike.

Not only because many other developers can start to look at the XBLA, PSN and WiiWare as a viable way to re-release old games (much like it is done on the DS and PSP); it can make developers ressurect many old franchises, they can even make them in 8bits or 16 bits like they were back then, in the same vein as Megaman 9.
How cool would that be?

BTW, i believe that Capcom will still not end there, i´m still waiting for a new Ghost & Goblins and Dark Stalkers.

All i know is that Resident Evil 5 will kick ass, so Capcom is kick ass in my book.

Valve has done quite abit in the company's short lifespan. They single handedly brought fourth digital distribution for games as something that isn't a gimmick to the public (EA try'd to copy it badly) it will no doubt be more prominent in next-gen consoles, they were also one of the first to bring HDR (High Dynamic Rendering) to gaming as well as making modding more mainstream and helping unknowns become known, Portal, counter-strike, Team Fortress. As well as supporting smaller Indie games like Peggle and Audiosurf. They are also coming out with steam cloud which automatically updates your drivers, it also saves your saved games online as well as your game configuration such as graphical setting's and controls. They also had there hand in episode gaming along with a few other peeps.
