I love the work Favreau has done with his characters and Nolan has done with the Batman story. But neither of them are strong visually. Mark Webb looks to be in the same ballpark.

But I hope to be proven wrong, I want epic imagery in this film. Imagine visual prowess akin to the Wachowski siblings or JJ Abrams in a comic book film. :wow:

Marc Webb has to push his talents to the brink or his career will be shot dead. He has to do exactly what Peter Jackson did, come in with nothing more than PASSION, and create greatness or die trying. Nothing pre-Lord of the Rings led you to believe that Peter Jackson could direct a massive epic trilogy, yet, with a lot of PASSION, he was able to create one the greatest epic films in decades. Notice that when I write the word PASSION its in all caps. There is a reason for this, I believe that there is something fanciful that connects a director to a particular film. And it is easily seen when one isn't connected to it from the root. There's a spark that you can see when a director has made that connection...and it's all started by PASSION.

Uhh, passion won't grant one a greater visual eye. I just want a comic film with incredible imagery.

Peter Jackson granted us plenty of incredible imagery, so did the Wachowski Brothers after only one small little lesbian flick entitled Bound. Either you have it or you don't. I'll be the first one to tell you if this MoFo don't.

Marc Webb is an incredible director. Watch any of his AFI music videos. Superb.

Spider-Man is a totally different animal than making music videos. Although I'm not into the music in which he has directed said videos. I took the liberty of watching all of his videos that he directed, to get an idea of what visuals he might include. He does have a visual eye, that's for sure, but is it big enough for a Spider-Man film?

I once doubting Peter Jackson when he was announced to direct Lord of the Rings, thinking to myself WTF, they could do a hell of a lot better than the guy who directed The Frighteners. Where's the epic directors, this is LORD OF THE RINGS!

Well, let's just say, I don't doubt small directors doing big films, unless I've actually seen the movie first and it's mediocre...then I take their ass apart.

After watching 500 Days of Summer actually think that Webb has a visual eye especially with cities.

Personally, I think both Favreau and Nolan have both created great imagery for their characters, ESPECIALLY Favreau. However, Spidey is a character that requires fantastic visuals, and I think Webb can do that perfectly. I had no doubts in my mind the minute I heard he was director, having seen 500 Days of Summer. The whole time watching 500 Days of Summer I was thinking "This is a Peter Parker story."
