Of course loved it. To be honest, I hadn't really ever heard of Watchmen until I started posting here, and even still, didnt play much attention until the Trailer came out. I got the GN Tuesday and just finished it, I must say it painted the conceptions I had from the trailer in a seriously differnet way(I was for sure It would end with Nuclear Holocaust...The "Squid" caught me 100% off guard)
But I'm amazed at just how much detail and backstory there is. I wasn't too fond of the black freighter story, but I found the relationship between the two Bernards touching, espically with it's payoff. Anyway, the reason I started this thread is because of a few questions I had as I put it down.
First off, Dr. Manhattan was Surprised and horrified at the thought of people getting Cancer from him. Yet he knows everything pretty much...So he must knew he would confront Verdit and learn the ttruth...so Why did he exile himself? Or...was he just "Following the script" as he said?
Why exactly did Rorschach kill the dogs instead of just killing the guy?
And lastly, Why did Dan and Laurie have to go into hiding? Well, I could understand why Laurie had to, but no one knew Dan was Nite Owl...Or did I miss something?
Otherwise, I am surprised at just how much I loved it and cannot wait to read through it again. And I'm hoping beyond hope what I'll see on screen in March moves me as much as what I just read.
