What a great movie. The more I watch it, the more I love it. This thread is dedicated to those who watch SR anytime, multiple times, after pooping, eating, sleeping, having sex...whatever...and still liked it.

even though there are things in SR that i would normally consider territory you shouldn't venture (Supes having a kid) watching it makes me respect Singer for, at least, staying faithful (for the most part) to the original movies as opposed to Burton or McG's incredibly unfaithful treatments. Singer layed a solid foundation for potentially awesome Superman sequels.

lol:cwink:

Well actually i saw it again two days ago and i not only loved it again , but i even discored some new bit. it has really rewatchable value imo :)

You know when Singers is describing how awe struck he was when watch STM in the DVD extras? Thats how I feel watching SR.

I didn't enjoy it as much the second time but i have to say the plane sequence remained awesome and the superb "moments" that Singer created remain excellent

As my sister's boyfriend said, "I could have left the theater after the Plane Sequence and it would have been worth it."

Then she wouldn't have missed anything, and saved herself about two hours. :cwink:

Missing Supes get his a** kicked? That was one of the most emotional bits in the film.

Yeah, especially the muffled "I'm still Superman!" it's heart wrenching.

It's certainly not as bad for me upon the second viewing since I had no expectations. I can focus on the lone positives like Routh and the plane sequence.

I will say one thing, I finally saw POTC 2 and that was complete crap. At least SR had a few redeaming qualities.

He felt that the plane sequence was so good, and heart stopping, that he would have been satisfied right there. In other words, he was more than satisfied with the entire movie.

I think, "Wowa we-wa!" every time I watch Superman, Superman II or Superman Returns. Awesome movies.

As far as I know my sister's boyfriend is not a "she". :cwink:

I kinda' assumed they'd be watching together, and she'd leave with him....but I'd have to get to know your sister better to be certain.

For me, SR is an amazing movie that has so much re-watchability value its unbelievable. I've watched it around 20-25 times now and it has got better with EVERY viewing and i've never known a 2 and a half hour movie go so quickly on the 20th viewing.

After the extreme dissapointment of X3, SR was the perfect tonic. It is literally like watching a God come to life and i think everyone involed with this movie did a fantastic job and even though TDK will be amazing and Nolan is a better film-maker than Singer, i have to say i'm looking forward to MOS more!

SR has also got me into Superman comics and people who said that Superman is totally different in the comics are completely wrong IMO.

Great movie; they don't make superhero films like SR anymore. Here's to SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL.

I absolutely LOVED superman returns, I've watched it too many times to remember, and I never get tired of it!!! It's the only movie I have liked this much, Singer does such a great job of the film...Brandon Routh does an equally swell performance...not to mention he's hot. There will never be another movie quite like it.
Anywho, I just wanted to comment on it!

That was really...swell! Rock on, great first post!

Something positive can always come from SR. If you bought the UC and you hate SR, sell it, SR may not have made a hot profit, but you might as well.

It is certainly a great movie, and one that i doubt i will tire of watching anytime soon, i feel like watching it even now!

I saw SR four times in theatres (once in IMAX) and every time I was thoroughly entertained and moved. I've only watched it once on DVD (not for lack of interest, I've just had plenty of other DVDs to watch since Christmas, including the rest of the Ultimate Superman Collection!) but it still retains its magic.

Definitely my favorite movie of '06, and like someone previously said, a sigh of relief after the abomination that was X3 (I went into that one like I was headed for the electric chair, and came out accordingly fried). After seeing SR, I mentioned to my friend that the one thing that could've improved X3 was if Supes flew in during the final battle and dropped New Krypton square on top of those fools.

^Totally agreed, X3 was a total dissapointment in every way possible, SR was the perfect tonic for that.
