my mate sent me this site

“We truly believe Ledger’s performance as Joker is the best an actor could ever do .No one can improve it. So please, Hollywood, use other enemies in the sequels to come.” the site’s team leader, Fer Barbella, told Wired.com in an e-mail interview.

now i loved the guy's performance but this is just stupid:facepalm

I saw this being discussed in the Bat forums. Yeah, this campaign is stupid. I really wouldn't mind Nolan picking someone else to play the Joker should the character come back in the third movie.

I don't want to see him recast in the 3rd movie but if there was another 20 year break before Joker's back on the big screen, I wouldn't mind

if the joker serves a quality story, i would hope they recast. ledger was fantastic, but at risk of sounding cliche, the role of the joker is bigger than any one actor.

I don't really wanna see Joker in the next one. It isn't because of manlove for Ledger; it's because I thought they used him so perfectly in TDK that I feel they would be retreading old ground if they used him again. Let another villain have their 15 minutes.

Joker's a great character. But he isn't the only character.

But yeah, extremist battards are getting beyond a joke.

What's worse is, in a way they're tarnishing Ledger's performance by validating those with the off base accusations of "You only liked Ledger because he was dead".

The obsessiveness that TDK inspired is kind of incredible, and a little bit frightening.

That'll pass eventually for most, and the select few who still hold the movie up as the best thing since sliced bread will just fall out of the public arena and will likely have the same cultural impact as the Trekkies at most.

They're not just saying sequels, they're saying this to WB, period....any future Bat films, NEVER include Joker again. That's what's getting me.

And that's what makes it stupid and doomed to fail. Were it just for the sequels, it has a chance, however slim.

Again I say.... :facepalm

That's like a bunch of Wizard of Oz people being like, "you know, that Cowardly Lion just could not be topped....no one should ever attempt to bring him to life in cinema or cartoon form again. His diction during the "put 'em up, put 'em up!" exchange was masterful."

Still, that movie is too beloved to be successfully remade.

This is old news. :o

I think late Heath Ledger himself wouldn't agree to this if he were alive so The Joker is bigger than any actor that played him.

I am really tempted to renounce my Batman fanboyism with all that is happening (this and DC pseudo-killing-off Bruce Wayne). I also have a feeling this massive fangasm with TDK as of late is rippening the situation up for an enormous backlash.

**** like this is what can cause the Academy to REALLY not want to take these movies seriously.

This is nothing, NOTHING, compared to Twilight's obesessive fans.

Check out what one fan made (NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR PEOPLE NOT WANTING TO BE SPOILED ON TWILIGHT)

In the last book Bella gets preggers by her vampire BF, and because they are crossbreeding the fetus mutates and screws up Bella's womb.

One fan decided to take it upon themselves to actually make the womb. Out of felt. Complete with mutated fetus.

That is ****ed

A uterus doesn't even look like that.

I agree with this.

It's the same reason why I didn't want Sabretooth, Toad, or Deathstrike to make second appearances in the X-Men trilogy, because there's more villians to use.

I don't think the Joker should come back either.

i left a comment

i saw this site in the paper, and as huge a joker fan i am, i must say this is one of the most ridiculous idea i have seen from fanboys( and trust me thats a big list)

did ledger portray the character in a fantastic way, yes in no doubt, but to demand the characters removal from not just any future nolan films, but any future batman films is moronic.

who is to say 20 years from now( which if you do the math is about the time a new joker appears in film) a new actor has a chance and brings something new and fantastic to the screen and dare i say it surpasses ledger as the clown prince. you would deny future film fans and batman fans this opportunity. why not only allow one writer to write the character or one artist to draw them, if we used this logic we wouldn't even have had the multiple versions of then joker

Iconic characters such as the joker are far bigger than anyone actor, and to limit them to a one time performance is not only idiotic but a crime against why we fans love these characters, the ability to show case so many different takes on the character.

now lets see what kind of reaction i get

As usual, the fans ruin everything.
