I always had a feeling Tim's Father would one day pass away and Tim would become Bruce's ward, I know in the latest issue He says he has to adopt him but, I will always say ward, it just goes with Batman.:)

I loved that moment when Tim hugs Bruce, very moving. But when and how did Tim's Father die? I have been away from the comics since 98, and I just started reading again with the beginning of the OYL story.

Captain Boomerang killed him in "Identity Crisis". Thus setting up the Robin/Boomerang Jr. confrontation coming up in Robin.

Ah, thank you. How'd he do it?

It always felt funny to have a character in the Bat family who's family wasn't dead, now it is all set right.:)

It was in Identity Crisis #6, and here's how it happend.

Captain Boomerang was hired by the killer of Sue Dibny, who was later revealed to be Jean Loring. Boomerang managed to brake into the Drake household. But Boomerang had no idea that Jack had been armed with his own gun, which was sent by the same killer. Both men ended up killing each other when Drake first shot Boomerang, and then Boomerang retaliated by throwing a boomerang which planted itself directly into Jack Drake's heart.

With a bow and arrow.

HAHA! Sarcasm. That's exactly what I thought. Why, how else would Captain Boomerang kill someone? It actually would have been really funny if he did kill Jack with a bow and arrow.

...Captain...Boomerang...?

Okie.

he's mainly a Flash villain...

It's good writing. First rule of assasination...kill the assassin. JEan Loring didn't want Boomerang to ever talk, so he had Jack Drake kill him at the same time Boomerang killed Jack.

Jack Drake was suppose to kill Boomerang and be the hero that stopped the serial killer, and put the case to rest. That's why Loring sent him the gun, and ended up double crossing Boomerang. The whole thing was organized so in the end Boomerang would take the fall for the attempted murders on the the real killers victims.

In the original panel, the real killer is clearly in distraught in the back door, as Robin cried in Batman's arms.
