I've been looking at getting a Wii for a few months now. I've wanted one since I first heard about it, but the craving has intensified as of late.

Since you can hardly find them anywhere, I've been looking at getting a brand new one off of eBay. If it wasn't for the fact that most auctions run over $300 (plus $40 shipping) I probably would have already bought one.

I've made some very stupid choices with my money lately (an Xbox 360 that killed over two weeks later and a cell phone that I got rid of after a month) and my girlfriend has promised to keep an eye on me when it comes to money. Still, in the back of my mind, I've always thought that if I found a place with a Wii I would buy it on spot.

Well, tonight me and my girlfriend stopped by Wal-Mart to waste time before our movie started. The placed was packed to the brim but I decided to walk back and see what they had anyway.

Not only did they have a Wii....they had two. If my girlfriend hadn't been with me I probably would have bought it.

Was I a complete idiot? Did I miss my chance for Wii before they sell out again?

Did you not buy one because of your girlfriend?
Honestly, I don't think things like consoles and such are a waste off money unless you don't use them. they're more off an investment.

I didn't buy one because she was there to kinda remind me of my past blunders. I've asked her to talk me out of spending large sums of money at one time. LOL!

Also, I'm not sure how much I would play it. And, like my girlfriend says, by the time I buy it something else will come out better that I will want.

But you have wanted one for a few months now, right? I think the window of "wanting something else" has closed a litte bit, dont you?

You'll find one eventually. The last time I went to Target, they had about 3-4 Wii's in the case. Before then, I hadn't seen any in stores since I got it on the first day.

I'm seeing Wii's in tons of houses right now, it's great.
Even the families that'd turn their noses up to general gaming, have Wii's in the living room.

I've had one since Chrimbo, but played on it at a friend's party last night.
Bowling + Alcohol = :(

It is something that you should pick up regardless of how she'll feel. I moved home after finding my self with no where to live again, found a Wii and picked it up. At first my parents were not thrilled since I was suppoused to be saving for a place to live but now they love it. She'll come around ;-D

My husband went out and bought a wii when some of our bills weren't even paid for the month! Let me tell you I was NOT happy. But once I started playing wii sports I didn't care anymore LOL.
I understand you asked her to help you make sure you didn't spend too much money... but I would talk to her about this one. Tell her that you know you asked her to help you out, but this is something you want and it's not just a passing phase.
Also, make sure you buy a second controller and a good game... like Ultimate Alliance. Wii sports and wii play is fun and all... but it gets boring pretty quickly!
