When i'm getting my income tax rebate back. I wanna either buy a cheap car or saving it and putting it into a bank and save up for like 9-12 months and move out.

well i do spend about 15 bucks a week for the bus.

Car definately before moving out. Savings is good too in preparation for both, maybe for a more dependable car down the road.

Well it depends on your situation. Why do you want to move; safety, bigger pad? Do you take public transportation often?

Also you should be more concerned with a reliable car compared to a "cheap" car, which could end up costing you more if you have to repair it all the time.

I say get a reliable car, make sure you have a mechanic friend to go with you. If you need to move to a better neighborhood or something then wait out 9 months and move.

and i mean moving out cause i'm 27 years old and still live with my dad.

For your second point, I don't think that's a big deal...I'm Arabic and it's part of our culture to live with our parents until marriage. Actually, I see a LOT of people living with their parents. So if you think that you have to do it to fit some norm than don't. If you want to move because you need to and are ready for it, then more power to you my friend.

I'm 25, 26 in April, and still live with my parents. Most of my friends, who are non-arabs/Muslims, live with their parents. So there is NO shame in that if that's what you're feeling.

You mentioned earlier that you spend $15 a week on the bus. If you get a car you'll probably be spending a LOT more than that given our gas prices, and keep in mind $3.00 per gallon is going to be the norm for a VERY long time. So there's that to consider since you want to save money for moving!

Save. If you move 2 months from now or a year from now you'll just be better off with that extra money.
