I need some help! Virus? or computer just dying?

So my gateway desktop is about 5 or 6 years old... and i use it pretty much all the time. about 6months ago part of the motherboard fried and i was no longer able to use it in one of the connections to be able to see anything on my screen. So i had to plug it into the back up component.

Anywho.. a few weeks ago my computer started getting a really messed up screen, it basically looks like someone took my screen, cut it up and pasted it back together. The computer if not shut off immediately after, turns into a blue screen that says beginning physical memory dump.

once the computer is shut off, when turned on again my monitor does not recognize my computer, or my speakers. And my screen shuts off. Several hours later, if i turn my computer again it will work as if nothing happened. Then in a few days later... all over again.

any help? is there a virus that can be doing this? or is it just time for me to get a new computer?

yeah...when part of your motherboard dies the rest soon follow...look for a shallow grave for your PC...if you have another monitor you should try plugging it in to see if it is your monitor or your graphics card.....but i bet it is your motherboard which means get a new PC....
