So, I just got my comic books today, and I read She-Hulk 20. At one point in the story Jennifer is telling RT-Z9 about her final case before the Living Tribunal. She says:
"He was passing judgement on our entire universe and he asked me to speak on its behalf. You see, the Tribunal had discovered another universe, an ultimate universe. One that was cleaner, simpler, and more elegant. The cosmic equivalent of a hot trophy wife. And he was weighing whether or not to replace us with it. In that timeless void, I have no idea how long I argued...point after point. That our home wasn't convoluted, it was legendary. That it wasn't confusing, it had character. And the most important point of all: we're fun."

As a person who's deeply devoted to the original Marvel universe, I thought this was sooooooo great! A hot trophy wife! (Snicker)

That you Discover Dan Slott's Awesomeness is alarming.

Welcome to the loving of Slott

Eh, it's a little in your face with it, really. I'm a big fan of Slott, but I think that could have been a bit more subtle.

Welcome to the group,... pick up your t-shirt, fan-hat and piercing at the door.

Nice quote, but as has been pointed out, could've been more subtle.

Lot's of Slott fan's here.

Props for telling it like it is, Dan. I know you're out there reading this ;)

And F subtlety.

Yeah, I don't think that scene needed subtlety. It's an indictment of the Unverse universe, plain and simple. A wink at the fourth wall. Dressing it up in belabored subtlety is something the pretentious Unverse writers would do. ;)

In the year 2000, I set out to create a parallel world where Colossus was gay, Captain America was a giant dick, and Tony Stark was still a *****ebag, no change there really. It was my greatest creation, until I realized that 7 years later, Spider-Man was still 15 years old.

Please. Make it stop.

The greatest pitfall was allowing Mark Millar and Greg Land to create an epic world where our favorite superheroes were zombies. 2 years later, the Zombies have infected everything they touch, and have caused Arthur Sudyam to lose all his artistic ability to the point where zombies are the only thing he can draw now. That was my fault, that was the Unverse's fault. Loeb and Joe Mad on Ultimates 3 is my fault, but part of a beautiful master plan.

Only you have the power to end it.

And I will. I have sensed that within the comic book reading community an ever growing restlessness. I have allowed Ultimates Vol. 2 to be drastically delayed to further feed their impatience. I have put a crappy creative team on Ultimate X-Men. I have made Ultimate Fantastic Four irrelevant. I have made Ultimate Spider-Man a title people buy because they are pathetic, even though it hasn't been good since the Hollywood arc. And now, I have drastically changed the format of the fan favorite Ultimates to a New Avengers rip-off title with a love it or hate it artist who will no doubt miss several deadlines. And of course, have put forward 3 pointless Unverse crossovers that will inevitably spell the end of the unverse as we know it. There is only so many crappy comics someone can buy.

Dude, you're totally a part of my editorial team when I'm, you know, EiC if Marvel.

You want me to purposefully make the fans angry and get them to buy crappy comics.....oh wait.

Don't forget about making Galactus a bunch of nanites and the Vision a chick who's a totally irrelevant pre-Silver Surfer Silver Surfer. :o
