That trailer really did nothing for me, and this is coming from a lifelong spidey fan. I mean........Ok, let's start with Sam Raimi obviously caving in by including Venom as a villain.

Where is he? Why was Eddie Brock in the trailer for 5 seconds? Why does Harry not wear a mask like his father and why in God's name are they MAKING SANDMAN REALLY BE BEN's KILLER!

Some of the lines from the trailer made no sense either. I think they're trying to do too much here. Why include Gwen?

I agree. Honestly, they should've saved Venom for Spider-Man 4.

if they put everything in the trailer it will turn out to be another x-men 3 disaster

With the right running time (2hr 30min, maybe?), there should be no problem. Yes there will be a lot of action and yes there are more stories and plotlines to tell, but as long as the pacing is right, it will work out.

And Venom will only appear in the final battle royale. If he survives, he'll get his due in Spider-Man 4

Based on the Q&A, Venom dies, if I recall correctly.

Oh, God. This again. Here we go...

Eddie Brock/Venom IS the main villian of SM3. Venom himself might not have the most screentime, but the whole story is built around him. Spidey gets the symbiote suit, and as the story progresses, Brock's hatred for Peter/Spidey grows and grows until the final act, when the power to do something about Peter/Spider-man falls right into his lap. Then it's Venom in all of his glory in the Battle Royale at the end of the film.

Harry DOES wear a mask for parts of the film, though its not a Goblin mask. He's not becoming a Green Goblin. He's just using his father's gear to exact his revenge on Peter. Yes, this is different from the comics.

Sandman IS set out to be Uncle Ben's killer, and this takes everything to another level, because Peter becomes obsessed with getting revenge, and the symbiote suit only fuels his revenge more. However, I have a feeling it will turn out that Sandman wasn't really the killer, but we'll have to see in May.

Yes, Gwen is in the film, but it's not the Gwen from the comics. She is only Gwen Stacy by name and appearance, and you could say she's more of a nod to fans than anything. Any female character could have been in her role. She's just there to create a love triangle with Peter and MJ.

With all this said, Spider-man 3 is filled with story threads, and all of these threads come together to form the tangled web that is the Spidey movie-verse. Everything will come together nicely. It's not just like the comics, but who cares? If you want to see whats in the comics, then read them. These movies are a different experience and that's fine with me.

Parts are gonna be rushed.... character devopement will hurt... but they didn't want to chance that everyone would be back for the fourth... we just have to deal with this and move on...

And if quality suffers because of it?

Quite frankly the whole idea of Arad practically shoving Venom down Raimi's throat pisses me off. "Well fans want Venom so like stop being so selfish Sam, lol." You stupid bastard. It's his vision. He can use whatever goddamn villains he wants. Quit hiding behind the fanbase as a means of justifying your greed. Assclown.

I personally hate the idea of cramming the Symbiote story into one, 2.5 hour movie. I simply don't like it.

I simply pointed out that it can't all be perfect... here I am *****ing about the CGI and I haven't even got to the story... but its a movie... not everything can be Lord of the Rings... the story will still be there like it always is... but if you are gonna nit pick then do so... (since I am nit picking about the CGI)... I accept plot gaps here and there and understand that there is a run time to meet and rabid fan boys to please, but everyone can be happy... but we all know this already... if you think this movie is going to be perfect because it is called Spiderman 3 your wrong... but even though some plot wholes will irk you... it shouldn't ruin the movie for you...

this movie isnt crammed, sam finds ways to fit the villians in the movie, spidey has to ight 4 villians in spidey3, sandman, harry, venom, symbiote, he must fight sandman first, then he must fight harry, then he must fight the symbiote from taking control, then he must fight venom for the final battle at the construction site, this movie isnt nearly over crammed, you have to be able to fit enough story and enough villians and enough action in the movie in that 2 hours and a half to 3hours, thats why i dont think this movie is over crammed.

Thank you. What Raimi is doing is intricately webbing all these stories together and it's going to play off.

I mean let's face facts: "Batman Begins" had a number of villains and different story threads but Nolan found a way to connect them all together, why can't people have the same faith for Raimi.

Sure, I hate Harry's new suit just as the next person, but I'm still in high hopes it's a prototype suit till he dons his dad's Goblin gear. Till then let's also look at something this is the 3rd movie and could be the final one as well. All bets are off, the stakes are higher, and Peter is going to have ALOT MORE weight on his shoulders than the last movie and his little world is going to come crashing down on him.

I don't do pre-whinning unless I know I don't like something (like Cyclops "dying"). This could be a hit against it, could make it the best superhero film ever. We'll see.

think about it, some people are making in thier minds more villians then there actually are, there are only 4 villians, thats not alot, you have to know how to balance it all out in a movie, x-men the last stand had maultiple villians, but, the franchise never suceeded over the spiderman movies, time and balance is what matters, and how you tell the story, this movie WONT be over crammed:cwink:.

uhhhhhhh no.

changeing sandmans origin to uncle bens kill awsome idea. totaly works.
harry not becoming green goblin. sucks. comic better.
gwen stacy's roll just a nod to fans? nod this *****!
venom. an interesting character when he was a strange alien costume on the secret wars planet. later when it teamed up with eddie brock it bacame a lame "hey look! i'm todd mcfarlane and i can draw really big teeth!" joke of a character for dim witted comic fans of the nineties. but i guess we need to include them to for bigger box office draw.

note to all comic movie makers.
you are not better than the source material.
so dont change them before polling comic fans. ( we are your masters )

sandman killed uncle ben. that was a good idea.
here another one you totaly missed
mary jane dies and gwen lives ( ironic twist of the comic story )

maybe as a "nod" to comic fans galactus will show up as the fantastic fours new mail man in FF2 and not do anything he did in the comics.

For a 2 hour 30 min movie, I don't see how it's supposedly crammed with too many characters and stories.

What makes you think that? [BLACKOUT]According to the Q&A neither of them die.[/BLACKOUT]

I hope it's not crammed, I believe every character should have some kind of development.

To me, it seems like you're judging a simple trailer as if it was the movie itself.

You mean, the trailer actually raises questions in your head? That's what trailers are supposed to do. That's what wraps an audience in. What will happen to Venom? What is up with Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer? To completely turn against both of those things simply because you don't have all the answers 7 months before the movie comes out is pointless.

Now, I'm not saying the film won't have too much crammed into it, or that you'll enjoy it, or anything like that, but you (and even myself - who loved the trailer) just won't know the all of the answers until we actually see the film. And any...absolute praise - or criticism - should wait until then.

i'm guessing Raimi is doing this out of spite..... he's probably sick of hearing what he needs to put in his movies... or worse he comes in here and read about us *****.

He's loaded this movie with enough plots to fill out 3 more SM movies.... I want to keep an open mind but i'm sorta losing hope.

statements like this are the reason that i stay away from here as much as possible.............

everyone, time for a simple lesson
Amazing Spider-Man = Comic

Spider-Man 3 = Movie

Comic DOES NOT = Movie

THEREFORE:
Amazing Spider-Man DOES NOT = Spider-Man 3
