Fant4stic I think this deserves its own thread...Josh Trank denounces Fantastic Four

And remember guys, Constantin Films actually own the IP for the Fan4 movies...not Fox. They have the co-producing/distribution deal.

So it makes you wonder if they're the producers who were supposedly giving Trank a hard time and made him supposedly difficult to work with.

They're also the reason it may be difficult to work out a deal with Marvel. Fox can't do anything. That decision would be Constantin Films.

They are the IP holders, not the producing studio. Its FOX's money and FOX's decisions about Trank.

And Trank's own stupidity.

I'm not defending Trank. I'm simply stating Constantin Films does have a hand in the producing aspect of the film. Fox isn't the only producing studio behind this.

I don't think Constantin is as important as a few people have decided the last couple of days. Constantin willingly sold Marvel the prints of Corman's version and they let some fans make a Silver Surfer fan film years ago. They don't strike me as being an issue. It's Fox. Maybe the reason I'm exclusively seeing this Constantin stuff get brought up by X-fans is because they don't want to admit Fox **** the bed, but they did. Fox is to blame for this film.

That's exactly the reason.

That's why I said they could be. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Fox; pulling another X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Just makes me wonder why all of a sudden they wouldn't trust Trank to do his thing like they've done with numerous other directors that past four/five years.

I think Fox made one mistake with both versions of the Fantastic Four .

They hired the wrong director .

The FF Franchise both needs and deserves a Bryan Singer or James Cameron or somebody of that caliber.

Even If Marvel gets the rights back, I can't see that happening.

Because Trank was erratic and hostile on set, out of control, and difficult to work with.

Same reason Disney wouldn't trust him with Star Wars.

One of my buddies said the same thing. Just the wrong director for the wrong property.

Exactly. Fox didn't step in for no reason despite what some might think.

I thought people were only bringing them up with regards to F4 going back to Marvel.

They just released a successful film from a guy that is known to have been attached to FF years ago. James Gunn was working on Silver Surfer years ago, too. He put out a rather good cosmic Marvel film. You may have heard of it. I think Kevin Feige knows some people that could handle this franchise...

I think that's one reason yes. It's not Fox's decision to give the rights back to Marvel. Constantin Films owns the IP, so I'm guessing it would be their decision.

I really don't think Constantin does have that power, but if they do Fox can probably kiss the Fantastic Four goodbye. As previously mentioned, Constantin allowed a Silver Surfer fan film. It wasn't until the Fox deal happened that those kind of decisions changed. Also all of that nonsense about an X-Men crossover is even more absurd if Fox didn't even have the Fantastic Four in the first place...

Now they are blaming all of us for the film's failure on the X-Men forums.

That's fine. They were dead wrong about FF and they'll be dead wrong about whatever their next ******** crusade is too. They'll be infesting the Deadpool forum also, no doubt, but they practically humiliate themselves on command these days so all one really has to do is sit back and enjoy the show.

I'm still not so sure Deadpool is going to be another R rated Kingsman like success like some are. We shall see.

I am glad others are finally starting to see it. It is clear as day, but they are seemingly allowed to troll all over the place.

I'm not making any guesses about it's financial potential at this time. It looks like a fun time though. Definitely a movie for Deadpool fans, but how wider audiences will take it I can't say.

I only make crazy early guesses that I'm going to change for DC films. :oldrazz:

Honestly Deadpool does depend on the reviews and marketing. It's budget isn't crazy though. I am side eying that Gambit budget though, even if that film is good the budget might be an issue.

They cut the action scenes days before filming though. So what was the lack of faith from? He'd been on the project for over a year.

I wonder who ends up looking the worse in this situation, Trank or Fox? And what was the idea for Fox pulling out so much stuff, if it's true, like what were they trying to accomplish with this movie?
