I'm looking at spending $800-$950..
Mostly going to be used for gaming.
Any ideas?

I haven't ever used a laptop for gaming just because I feel like the unit would overheat with the Graphics load it would put on it. I guess my suggestion would be, something with lots of power and a huge fan. Some things I would suggest:

A 1GB graphics card, a quad core or multi core processor, and at least 8GB of memory.

Scarlet,

I have a gaming notebook, Asus, which has been pretty dang good to me, really. I know a lot of folks like Asus, or Sager machines for gaming if you want the best bang for your buck. There is so many different notebooks, I would just look around a bit, or as I frequent this forum a lot as well, and good wealth of information, BTW.

For the 8 Gig's? Nah, if your getting Windows 7 32x you will do just fine with 4 Gig's of RAM at the moment, and rest is overkill since Windows 7 32x only reads up to 3.6 Gig's. If ya go the x64 route, then you'll be fine, but still you can upgrade later, for I run on 4 and play the latest games just fine.
Asus G Series:

Your price range:

But, really I would look on that forum link I gave you, and they will help ya out better than I can plus tons of knowledge.
