I want to read some Legion comics...

    Can anyone recommend a place to start? If I get the recently released Omnibus will i be confused?

    Start with New Mutants 25-28. It's written by Chris Claremont and drawn by Bill Sienkiewicz (who perfectly captures the trippy nature of the character). It's his origin, the first exploration of powers, etc.

    Just got the first 2 volumes of the Legacy graphic novels and started the first last night, loving it already.

    These may come off as brief cameos but they do use Haller as a key plot device:

    Psylockolossus once recommended New Mutants Vol 3 to me as a place to start New Mutants and it has some David Haller in there.

    My first time seeing him was in the alternate reality of X-Men Age of X. That's a brief one and I could totally see an X-Men/Legion mash up in that vein.

    Also read the Age of Apocalypse issues from the 90s, Legion caused the age of Apocalypse.
