I know that sounds terrible, but what better way for him to reflect on his current stress in life, what with hunting down an ally (Batman) and show allusions to the comics?

Doesn't smoking in film warrant an R-rating nowadays?

THey couldn't even get Bond to smoke in CASINO ROYALE.

That had to be cut.

How would Gordon smoking benefit the series at all?

i dont think we will ever see gordon smoking in the nolan series, he hasnt smoked in the previous films so i doubt that the next film will have him smoking

Sheesh lighten up (no pun intended), I'm not saying it would benefit it like that or anything, I'm just saying it would be a nice nod to the comics. I mean, if you read Year One, or Long Halloween, or anything by Loeb and Sale, Gordon's always waiting for Batman with a cigarette in his mouth. There's just something about that imagery that I love and it would be a neat little nod to Year One and the others.

Pretty lame if you ask me. Didn't Tony Stark have a cigar at one point in Iron Man? I may be wrong. Maybe it was in Incredible Hulk?

smoking a cigar is a tad different then smoking a cigarette.

Is it really? That's f'n lame.

Violence and implied sex is just fine in pg-13, but a little cigarette is a no-go?

Yes.... they have made it to be that if there is smoking in a film it is rated R. And they are actually trying to ban smoking in movies, period.

I don't think people want family friendly they just don't find it necessary.

if done, i'd like so Gordon picks up the bad habit out of stress, and quits at the end of the film.

make it drinking hell they kind of showed it in TDK how he doesn't go home.

Gordon's probably the cleanest guy in all of Gotham...What I would like to see though...Is him getting into a fight...Having some military background...Year One styles!

yeah, Gordon smoking... so he coughs a lot... then he can't help the bat chase down the villains because his lungs are too weak... old man, lets his stupid mistakes get in the way of the story and film.

YES! give Gordon a death stick. He really needs one.

I've read those comics and things change. Harvey is blonde, Joker wears makeup, Rachel is created...I just think it's be a really unnecessary addition, especially now so late into the franchise.

Not true. They're trying to make it so the glorification of Smoking warrants an R rating. Also, to whoever said it above...in Iron Man you see Happy smoking a cigarette and Stane smoking a cigar.

I'm just saying it's kind of an iconic Gordon image. No need to be rude, people. :whatever:

Sure, it's not necessary. It'd just be neat to see a shot reminiscent of Year One with him standing by the Batsignal...if of course, it is rebuilt.

ok, ok, I don't want to be like "that" or whatever... I know what you're sayin.
I just want us to think about it before saying yes.
