I'm hoping that some of the villains in the coming MCU movies don't get killed off since I think it would be pretty cool if the Avengers would have to get help from the villains in order to beat Thanos. As you guys can tell, I just want these two movies to be as huge as possible :woot:

If Thanos has the infinity gems he can easily summon the heroes arch villains, even if they are dead.

What if Thanos is so arrogant and confident he'll destroy the Avengers that he brings Cap back from the dead himself? The whole "I want to defeat your pitiful Avengers at their best, with their leader as well.

Thanos: "Bwahaha, foolish Avengers, I call upon your deadliest, long-vanquished foes to defeat you!! And now, OBADIAH STANE SHALL DESTROY YOU!!!!!""

Stane: "I CAN'T!! THEY RIPPED OUT MY TARGETING SYSTEMS!! ARRRGHH!!!!" *flails around wildly firing his weapons* *shoots Loki* *shoots Red Skull* *Shoots Thanos*

From the Empire interview today. Age of Ultron spoilers:

The magazine then goes on to discuss the scene in the Comic-Con trailer which featured Tony Stark looking at an asteroid littered with the bodies of his fellow Avengers (they also confirm that this was an illusion created by the Scarlet Witch). Are they all dead at the hands of Thanos? "I can neither confirm nor deny that it totally is."

I thought the same thing, with Death coaxing Thanks into doing it.

Getting a better look at the detail, I like the suit much better. The black breaks up the gold more effectively when he's standing up.

:wow: I LOVE it! The black segments look great & blend in perfectly with the gold. Can't wait to see more of this in live action.

Probably not in the first film. I suspect Thanos, while being a major player in the first Infinity War, will still be a bit in the background while obtaining the Infinity Stones.

So then who would you expect to me the "main" villain for the first half (AKA Part 1)???

I would suspect it be another one of his underlings as opposed to a completely new villain (like compare the roles of Ronan in GOTG with Hydra in AoU. Ronan was working with Thanos, while Hydra will be a completely different faction from Ultron)

Well we know that Loki will be in the films. And I imagine that Nebula will be as well.

I really want to see the MCU delve deep into the character of Thanos. If the MCU has one weakness it's the villains. Now personally I feel that fans have far overemphasized the weakness of Marvel's villains...but there certainly are some examples of underdeveloped characters (Malekith, Whiplash, and Ronan). They CAN NOT let this happen to Thanos. If Thanos fails to deliver than the Infinity War will fail to deliver; and if the Infinity War fails to deliver so will the entire MCU. So a lot is at stake.

However the casting of Josh Brolin was an outstanding start. Also it appears that he will be making several appearances between films 6 (his introduction) and film 21 (his finale). Thirdly, Thanos from the comics is an amazingly deep and fascinating villain. He'd be very difficult to screw up on the big screen. Finally, I believe that Marvel is cognizant of this and they won't screw this up.

I bet a lot of his background will be exposed in gotg2. I bet thor will hear about him ragnarok. I really dont know how else the avengers on earth are going to hear about him until he is here..... maybe captain marvel will get a piece of his story. They really should start buolding him up soon. Especially if they want to introduce death. Wish marvel had deadpool and not fox. Woulda made for a funny build up.

Will he be the only villain?

I wonder

I think like the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, there will be multiple characters at work. I suspect Nebula will play a big role like she does in the books, and someone will have a Mephisto role (whether they introduce Mephisto or they use Loki in his place).

Nah. Thanos will be the villain for part 1. Part 2 will probably literally be like Infinity War..maybe mixed with War of Kings

I doubt it will be like War of Kings at all save for the possible involvement of the Inhumans.

It's literally going to be a war of infinity. I wonder if everyone will be wanting that power.

All I know is that when it comes down to it we better see Thanos kicking a lot of ass.

Although I found it entertaining how Ronan killed The Other, I did really love him as a character (he was so interesting and mysterious) and still wish that they didn't kill him off so early.

IF he never actually was killed (but maybe instead just knocked out, which is unlikely), then I would love to see him come back working with Thanos, even if for a very small time

Unfortunately his head got completely turned around so I doubt we'll see him again. But I do wonder what he was about to say just before he was killed. He says to Ronan "I may be your--"....his what?

I think he said I "I may be your equal but-"

He's Ronan's equal, but he's representing Thanos, so Ronan should show more respect or something.

I loved that scene because it showed how cold Thanos was. Ronan killed Thanos' minion, but Thanos didn't even flinch. Wow!
