After much deliberation and many doubts about getting a Psp or a DS, I have decided to get a GBA SP. Why?

It has a bunch of kickass games.
It's cheap.
It won't hurt my eyes.

I'll just leave the big boy graphics for the Wii, Ps2 and 360 (which is what I will have by next year)

What accessories do I need?

Which games do I get?

You won't need the detachable light fixture if you're getting the SP, so all I can suggest right off the bat are X-Men Legends II and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, must-haves.

Just so that you're aware, the Nintendo DS CAN play GBA games.

A definite buy for the GBA is Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, though. I can recommend a few more if you like, but damn it, just get a DS.

The Game Boy Advance is getting Final Fantasy VI.

The Nintendo DS is getting Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy XII: Reverant Wings.

I say go with the DS. It can play Game Boy Advance games, which are comming to a halt in terms of releases. And it has some great games too like Metroid Prime: Hunters, Star Fox: Command, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, and is getting the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

One thing I should tell you about the lite is that when you play GBA games, the cartridge sticks out a little bit

Don't forget Advance Wars Dual Strike if you're buying a DS. And if you want some nice casual fun with an incredible amount of replay value (there's a billion different game modes and online multiplayer), buy Tetris DS. Thus far, I have probably spent more time on Tetris DS than any game in the past few years. And yeah, both Yoshi's Island 2 and Final Fantasy III (Wi-Fi enabled) will be available this Thurday. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl will soon be on the way.

Oh, and the DS will likely have a lot of connectivity with the Wii, I think. I remember reading an article where the Wii's WiiConnect24 ability will allow for DS Download Stations in your own home.

Clubhouse Games (which is enabled with WiFi) is another goodie, especially if you want to play with some one who wouldn't dare play a video game ever. Elite Beat Agents, which came out yesterday, is wacky and fun.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin will be released soon, and it will feature local online cooperation. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, the first Castlevania game on the DS, is also a classic.
