I finally, finally after weeks of searching find a Batman Movie Masters. Great, I get it hom, crack it open, and the cape isn't glued on or anything. It's just a serperate piece with no way to connect.

I call the number on the bottom of the package. They cannot replace the figure because they don't have the ability to. They have no warehouse, nothing.

He can instead give me a voucher for $12 for Mattel products. I explain it took me months to find even one of these and he himself admits they don't have anymore. What am I going to do with a Mattel voucher? Fine I don't want this anymore, I'll send it to you, you just refund my money. These jerks can't even just give me a straight refund just a coupon.

I will buy no more Movie Masters or anything else from Mattel. I am now eagerly anticipating my Hot Toys Joker from a company that actualy cares about themselves and the people they serve.

Thats nice. More for the rest of us.

I sympathize, but one bad experience with a figure shouldn't turn you against what is probably the best looking toy line out today.

Hey Arnold,

I'm pretty sure you can easily do one of two things:

1-re-glue the plastic cape

2-put a cloth cape of your own making on instead

I think #2 would be a good idea. Were I in your situation, I'd look at it as an opportunity to give the figure a cloth cape.

Thanks, 2 is a great idea. I tryed to glue this one on before taking action and calling them but not even the most powerful resin glue I had used on my crystal skull could hold it.

Also guys, Im not knocking the Movie Masters figures, they rock as far as sculpting, I am upset w/ Mattel. For starters because they couldn't, IMHO, properly handle a legitimate complaint about a faulty product they let slide by. And second because the idea of a voucher may be ok, accept they cannot keep the figures stocked in stores and meet demands. Most of the damn stockboys are taking these for ebay so they don't even hit the shelves when they finally get that one case per store. I feel bad for the little kids who aren't after just 2 figures to put on there desk, but actually wanna get these to play with. They can't swing $40 on ebay for the Joker... and chase figures....

Also wasn't Mattel the same company that had the recall isssue a while back w/ lead paint?

mattel does indeed suck. thats *****ty that you had a bad experience with them, but lets face it, just look at that awful 5 inch scarecrow. what the hell were they thinking? and the debacle that is the MM distribution situation. poor poor form from mattel, too bad these jerks are in charge of making these figures. the four horseman FTW, Mattel fails badly. I can only suspect something similar happening when the two-face figures arrive.

I'm not counting on a two-face from MM. They pulled the first wave Joker for being "too dark". But they'll make a guy with half his face melted? I'll believe it when I see it. I wouldn't be surprised if they just made a Harvey Dent or even made Two-face but a 1 in 10 case chase figure.

Like I said the guy said they don't have a warehouse. Do you MM collectors realise that means they go right from being made to wherever they are sold, which means they only make as many as stores can order. Even big stores like Walmart are only getting 2 cases a wave. How do they expect people to get these with scalpers nowadays?

indeed, indeed. i meant the five inch unless they mass produce them as much as any of the other kiddie figures. i hope we get a MM, I really do.

mattel nedds to suck it up, grow some balls, and start mass producing the MM figures o a large scale. they need to sayn"the hell with the basic figure line, lets keep making movie master figures" thats what they need to do. seriously we should get their number, call them every day and herass them and complain to them(i doubt it will help) but at least we will get the message across.

Sucks guys, I bought from Mattell and Im just fine with everything Ive gotten.

Mattel can seriously go straight to hell...they've really dropped the ball here....The movie is still number 1, and these figures could be the hottest figures on the market today, if only they would produce more. Can someone get their contact information? I think maybe, if enough of us aggrevate them we might be able to get something done.

These forums are really all just turning into whine fests. I mean, I have been supportive of those not able to find MM's, but the whining about Mattel is getting to a ridiculous degree.

Man, if you got a defective figure, just take the damn thing back to the store and get a refund. It's not that complicated. You'd think you had never purchased a defective product in your life. If you haven't, trust me... you are in the minority if not a world of your own.

Whine fests? Were complaining about the same thing, Mattel's incompetence, which is blantantly clear. You are the one whining for no legitimate reason.

I can't return it to the store, once its open it's the manufacturer's responsibility. They couldn't handle it. Mattel sucks some balls. If you can't handle that fact, strap on a helmet and bunker down under your blanket.

It's people like you that don't get it, when no one complains, they assume everything is ok and continue to screw up. Like the Bush Administration.

that is super unfortunate i know a guy who got the batman movie masters figure and it had to left legs

lol watch them only make like 50 of these htings and then do a recall on them

Hey guys a little update.

My friend bought a case of Movie Masters against my suggestion. I am now laughing in his face. First all 4 of his evidence bags had the label on upside down and one was crumpled so bad it looked like garbage. His Joker has green paint all over the nose and the card wasn't packaged properly so it got all bent up.

One of his Batman's cape is also messed up tho not as bad as mine is. The right flap was never glued down in the front.

Finally the best for last, his scarecrows arm is just broken. At the elbow joint it is completly and totally broken shattered plastic. Mind boggling.

Were going to the bar later tonight, when i go by his place Ill get some pictures. Its truely disgraceful, an entire wave and not one undamaged figure. Mattel is 0-5 in my book.

Ya im really anal about which figures i buy for my personal collection. I actually went through like ten of the MM begins figures before I saw one with paint to my liking. And that figure has minimal paint to begin with, just the face and belt but it's amazing how one could look quite crummy than he next. some seemed to have one coat of paint and some three. Or part of Batmans chin might have miscolored areas. I imagine a bunch of underpaid chinese with brushes speeding through these but do they even use human painters these days? Seems like many lines of figures have a consitantcy of qaulity and complicated paint scheme that must be done by machine.

Machines.

If I had to guess...

Mattel has realised they underproduced these figures. So to deal with scalpers they are rushing out as many as they can and the quality is getting hit in the balls like a Bob Sagget sketch.

Look at how they have 5 or is it 6 waves with 2-3 revisions per wave but all the same 5 figures. And good luck finding a chase figure if you have a job and its not at a toys r us. Screw "chase" call them ebay figures.

SOB's don't even care to take this line to the european mainland!
