I'm in the market for a new laptop. I'm doing a lot of work in college with Maya, Unity, Visual Studios, and I'd like a nice machine for gaming.

I would like to say for you to get the first one since it has SSD which will help your performance dramatically over a standard hard drive. The GTX 960 can play many games at 1080p and more graphic intensive games at 900 or 720p. I'd say go for the i5 and save you some money for the Ramen noodles for dinner to recoup the money. Although, Dell has a coupon for Black Friday that can save you 55% on the latter.

Probably. Cortana just linked me to several coupons for Dell's website though. I found one that gets you a discount $50 off a Dell Inspiron laptop that are $699.99 and up (excludes Black Friday PCs, though).
