I was sitting around the house with my Girlfriend and a buddy last night when we were talking about the WAG strike. We got onto the subject of movies that need to be made.

We had the idea of an Old School/Dodgeball/Knocked Up type comedy that would be called "Stripper School". It would be a group of guys that get tired of the service these young girls provide and decide to set up a Stipper School that would issue Certificates, or Degrees or something. I'm not a writer, but it would be a movie that I would watch.

What ideas do you have for movies?

'Stripper School' could be funny if it wasn't your cookie cutter T&A comedy. But if it doesn't actually have T&A in it after titling it 'Stripper School' I'd be pissed. I hate all those stripper movies where the girls don't show us anything (*ahem.. Lohan). One thing I liked about 'Striptease' and 'Dancing At The Blue Iguana' is the fact that bigger named stars weren't afraid to bare all.

I have written several script outlines for films I'd like to do, however I'm not going to share them with the general public at this time.

I'll write it. We can discuss it elsewhere. PM, e-mail or AIM perhaps. It sounds like more fun than having to sit here and do my job anyway.

I have several outlines/stories that I wanna flesh out and write up as scripts but haven't been able to for one reason or another.. if anyone wants to work on something with me gimme a pm.

    Eden
Sci-fi story set in the future where Earth is dying and humans are looking to colonise other planets. Earth scientists discover a message coming from a distant planet proclaiming peace and friendship. A group of astronauts are sent out to check out the planet and find a beautiful, habitable planet with no signs of life. It becomes apparent not all is right with paradise when the group begin been picked off by the alien race that secrelty live there. The alien race were once humanoid who came to the planet looking for 'the fountain of youth' which they found. But now they are stuck on Eden where the fountain has dried up so they lure other races to the planet to 'feed' on them to stay young.

    A Dog Called Darwin
Would be a traditionally animated tale about a kid whose dog (Darwin) is washed down river on a camping trip. Darwin must follow his instincts to get home where he will make friends, enemies and face deadly challenges on the way including hunters and wolves.

    Captain Atom: Defender of Earth
A trilogy of serious B-movie style films about Lance 'Atom' Lightning, captain of the spaceship Proton, and his kid sidekick, Sparky, who rises up as the defender of earth. The trilogy would comprise the 'origin' story where he fights off alien invaders, 'Captain Atom and the Planet of Killer Robots' in which Atom is sent to rescue crashed space explorers on an unknown planet and 'Captain Atom at the Edge of the Universe' in which Atom must race to the edge of the universe to stop it from collapsing and save the woman he loves.

    John of the Underworld
Johns' wife is dying of cancer and in her last hours he sells his soul to save her. Later that night the grim reaper comes for John who refuses to go with him' Lucifer, furious, takes his wife down to the Underworld. John commits suicide and finds himself in the Underworld where he battles the Minotaur, Cerberus, the Hydra and Lucifer himself in order to save his wife.

    Grimm City
Grimm City is a parallel city of New York (ie. Central Park is The Wild Woods) where fairy tale and related characters exist as normal people.. The Big Bad Wolf is a werewolf slaying young girls every full moon, The Woodsman is a punisher-esque anti-hero, Beanstalk Jack is hooked on 'magic beans', The Mad Hatter an escaped mental patient, Pinochio was born with a skin defect and so steals the skin of other boys to 'become real' and the Wicked Witch is a child catacher and so on. It would focus on the Red Riding Hood/Wolf story with other bits thrown in.

    The Tomorrow People
Set in the future about kids who discover they have powers and are forced on to the streets where they are hunted by the mysterious Agency, who research them for developing their super agent program. It would focus on one kid who has more than one power and rises up to defeat the agency.

Yeah I know the general idea has been done.. but I always imagined it would work really well as a traditional animated piece, like a Don Bluth thing or something.. 'cos there's too many cgi comedies these days, it would be nice to still get stuff like Land Before Time and Iron Giant..

"Snow Crash" NEEDS to be made into a film right now!

Damn the Waki Bros for stealing all the ideas and dumbing it down for the mainstream public!

As a filmmaker, I'm gonna keep my ideas to myself...

    ...accept one.

Me and some buddies from my screenwriting class in college had a contest to see who could come up with the most general and cookie cutter style movie that we personally would hate, but would gross millions if made. I have an idea that sucks so bad I know someone would jump at the chance to make it. But I don't want to make it. So, if anyone wants to, feel free to steal this...

A young white male fresh from business school goes to a job interview in New York and is turned down for a job he knows he is qualified for. He begs the company's vice president for the job. "I'll be what ever you want me to be." the kid pleads. "You need me to be the guy who works weekends and holidays, I'll be him. I can be anything." The VP asks him if he can be a black woman. Due to affirmative action quotas the company needs to hire a female minority. So the kid goes home and transforms himself into a black woman and applies for the job again, this time with his female alias. He is hired.

Of course, because he is good at what he does, he rises through the ranks fast, all the while people are thinking he is a black woman. He meets his boss, a black man, and impresses him. He feels that his boss loves his work and not his gender or color, so he plans to come out to his boss as a white man. However, the bosses son, a young man who is also working his way up the ranks, develops a crush on this new "girl" creating many complications.

Blah, blah, blah...you get the picture. If White Chicks worked, so will this. I will never see it though.

    *le bump*

I have a pretty interesting idea for the found footage genre. It's based on the Ferguson riots where we follow a journalist for an online news site (like Vice or HuffingtonPost). He has up a live stream of the riots as it escalates to extreme levels (think Purge 2).

I know it's only going to be time before somebody makes it.

^Who would dare take on the controversy? I'd like to see it though.

Before that whole boom regarding MMA came out, I had an idea about a fantasy/comedy style movie where an arrogant MMA fighter who thinks he's the best gets an invite to determine who is the greatest fighter of all time, only to discover it's an intergalactic/interdimensional type contest where not only humans, but aliens, various creatues and demons, and scientists wielding....science take part. And he has to learn how to fight all these guys using his own wits and prowess.

I have three in particular that are meant to be part of the same universe, all of which are basically remix-homages to previous films and films genres I've been a sucker for.

So it's basically a cross between "Soul Man" and "Tootsie".

Captain Atom sounds an awful lot like Lt Paris's "Captain Proton" holodeck program on Star Trek: Voyager.

And Grimm City sounds an awful lot like the TV series Once Upon A Time.

By the way, there's another thread on here that's virtually identical. You can find it right here:

One of my favorites from that thread is this one

I've already written a screenplay for a live action adaptation of Thundarr The Barbarian, and am currently trying to get it produced. I won't go into too much detail here, but it's an origins story explaining how Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla all met, where Thundarr got his Sunsword, where wizards, mutants, monsters, and magic come from, things like that.

Then I have a few others that I haven't written yet and are are less fleshed out.

One is for Clint Eastwood to return as "Dirty" Harry Calahan. Harry has retired from the force and is trying to deal with the dull life of a retiree as best he can. He goes for a run every morning. Goes to the firing range to squeeze off a few rounds. Goes to the local police watering hole to down a few with the fellas who are still on the force. That sort of thing. One day he gets a letter in the mail. It tells him to watch the news on a specific channel at a specific time later that day. When the hour rolls around, his curiosity gets the better of him and he turns on the news. The top story is that of a young woman being shot dead in her pool on the anniversary of the day that the sniper known as Scorpio had committed an almost identical murder. Harry brings the letter to the police station and shows it to the boys in homicide. They shrug it off. Then the mysterious sniper starts recreating more of Scorpio's crimes and sending Harry more letters. Now the department takes the case more seriously and bring Harry on as a civilian consultant. They team him up with his old partner from "The Dead Pool" and a fresh young hotshot, who actually idolizes Harry and shares his views of beaurocratic BS. But once Harry is on the case, the copycat killer is no longer copying Scorpio. Now he's copying one of Harry's other cases. Every time Harry is about to get ahead of the killer, he changes his M.O. and starts to copycat another of Harry's cases. This continues until the killer is finally revealed. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out who I want the killer to be yet.

Here's a movie idea I've had for a while. It actually started out as an idea for a summer camp, but it would cost millions of dollars to launch a camp like this, and I don't happen to have millions of dollars so . . .

The title of the film is "Camp Blood", chosen as a tribute to one of my all time favourite slasher movies, Friday The 13th. It's about a summer camp that just a little bit different. It's a camp for young horror fans. Kids sign up to spend two weeks at camp. During Week #1, they do normal summer camp stuff (swimming, hiking, canoeing, toasting marshmallows, singing campfire songs, etc). Then during Week #2, they are "stalked" by a mysterious "killer", and are picked off one by one. It's all just a big game, kinda like those "Murder Mystery Parties", where clues are left around the camp and the remaining campers have to deduce who the "killer" is. Kinda like the revealed plot in the 1980's horror/comedy "April Fool's Day". In the script, it's a popular summer camp and the kids enjoy trying to figure out who the killer is going to be this year (the killer changes every year for each new batch of kids so that they don't get bored with Week #2). Only this year, the murders end up being for real.

I also have an idea for a movie loosely based on a short story entitled "The Sentry". If you haven't read the story, its a monologue by a soldier in an intergalactic war who's on sentry duty. He describes the enemy as being bloodthirsty and warlike, saying that they attacked his civilization without provocation, and they respond to all attempts at a peaceful resolution with violence. Then he shoots and kills one of the alien invaders and it's revealed that the aliens in question are humans.

So for the movie version, I would have it begin with seeing the peaceful aliens culture being destroyed by intergalactic invaders. Then the aliens fight back. It's a very bloody war with heavy casualties on both sides. The invaders wear uniforms and helmets which keep their entire bodies covered, so we never see what they look like. At least not until the very end, when during the final battle of the film, an invader is shot dead and his helmet flies off. When the alien protagonist walks up to him to finally get a good look at one of these invaders, it's revealed to be a human from Earth. Then the alien makes a comment like "How disgusting".

Out or curiosity what is the plagiarism laws involved with writing down an idea and if someone was to steal the idea and turn it into a bazillion dollar film? Is having written down on a public forum enough to secure it? I'm thinking it would depend on the level of detail?
