Do you think the public would look up to him the same way as JFK? If you think about Kennedy go the US in a similar type of war with Vietnam.

i think the world would party like it was 1999

Except Kennedy was fairly young, had two young kids, and just lost a son months before.

Did you just compare Bush to JFK?... SECURITY!!!

You cannot murder the immortal son of satan!

History will look at Bush as a bad President no matter what.

No, the whole assasinating a president makes his image better thing is poppycock.

Agreed, a Bush assasination would be like the apple juice you drink to swallow a bitter pill. It would just mask the fact that he was a bad president.

Assassinating Bush would be a liberals nightmare: not only would Bush get favorable approval ratings because he was killed, Dick Cheney would become President.

Not right away, but historically, yes.

But to be a realist here, assassinating Bush would be incredibly difficult. Aside from the **** load of secret service agents, Bush is one of the least public presidents of all time.

I honestly think Dick Cheney would resign before taking on the presidency. Not immedietly, he'd appoint a conservative V.P., now that Nancy Pelosi is third in line, but after there is a conservative V.P. in place, I don't think he'd want the job.

He wouldn't, because then Nanci Pelosi would become President. Which would be a conservative's nightmare.

If I'm not mistaken, he'd be able to appoint his own V.P.. The succession clause would only occur if something simultaneous happened. I could be wrong about that...but I think he does. He'd appoint someone like Frist then step down.

Sad but true.

I think he might be viewed with more sympathy down the line.

Actually, I believe there would be no VP untill the next election. So Nanci Pelosi would become the next President if Dick Cheney stepped down or died.

*Lyndon B. Johnson went from 1963 to 1965 with no VP.

No. And man, its Christmas! Lets be happy! And think happy things!

Yeah. Like him or hate him, it's sick to want someone to be murdered. Except if it's someone that is an abomination like Hitler or Stalin.

People would be nice for a while, just out of respect for the recently deceased, then they'd go back to their old feelings (like when Reagan died).
