The current cast carries too much baggage. I definitely don't need to see the First Class versions after Dark Phoenix. X-Men need a clean slate.

That's why I say that the X-Men shouldn't be scrapped and the current cast should continue on in their own universe. End Phase 4 with an event film merging universes.

both of which isn't happening if feige gets control of x-men.X-men will not be int heir own universe.and x-men will defently be scrapped.

The first thing I would do if I was Marvel would be throw a crapton of money to try at Hugh Jackman to try to get him in the next Avengers film. He's got the most immediate value.

Merging the MCU with a declining franchise like the main X series would be a mistake. This reminds me of all the Amazing Spiderman fans who wanted that series to pick up in the MCU. Why would they do this?

The new cast and films are not popular enough to justify this. And you poison the brand with another studio vision. Feige wants to take things in a different direction after IW. They will introduce their own versions of any FOX characters they adapt to simplify stories.

I definitely want to see Fantastic Four especially under the Marvel umbrella under the Feige umbrella under his direction he would be able to get the characters right finally especially if Marvel do get the rights

It will be strange to see them done well after all this time.

I know right but if anyone could do it it is Feige

I'm sure he won't let them loose in the MCU till he knows they have a way to do them well.

I think it would have to be the Fantastic Four for obvious reasons. Assuming the deal goes through, and New Mutants and Dark Phoenix are the last of the Fox universe, I think they would be smart to give the X-Men a short break for the sake of letting the demand for an MCU version build up. I'd shoot for a 2023 release as that would coincide with their 60th anniversary and it will have been 5 years since the aforementioned films.

Why is this even a question? F4 first. They introduce far more interesting an large concepts and honestly if they decide to reboot. People will need the break from X-Men before they are ready to except a reboot.

I see it the other way, not so much a break from the X-men themselves but a break of the entire MCU. If it is all connected and you are watching all the MCU content you need to break from the Inhumans and explain why that was such a trauma if mutants had been around for openly centuries.

Wonderful choice.

Got to be Fantastic Four. I would actually hold off on an X-men reboot for a while as we have had a lot of X-men movie in the past 10 years.

In terms of the X-Men, even if Marvel got the rights tomorrow a new film would likely be 4-5 years off anyway...possibly more. Eventually they would (likely) want to build the future phases around them and Spider-Man when they give the Avengers a break. Other (and newer) characters will shine of course, but things being unknown those would be the safe guesses.

To clarify, I just meant the X-Men would likely be the new Avengers in terms of the team-up event film as Earth's Mightiest are given a break.

Obviously there is potential for newer franchises to be massive as well. Although I don't see a ton of X-Men solos like we did for the Avengers, more introducing mutants (or the concept of) in other films first, etc.

It's not, "declining." Logan and Deadpool both made a boatload of money. DOFP was only three years ago and also made a ton of cash.

I'm not sure who you are arguing against.....The chance of this universe continuing beyond Deadpool is next to none.

I personally don't think 740+ m is a ton of cash for an X-Men film, but OK, that's your opinion.

The MCU can boost the main team X-films into a billion dollar property.

I agree, it's what we should at least hope for, and eventually expect with great entries.

Why can't they do that with the same cast?

My point is that we won't suddenly get reboots of the spin-off teams like New Mutants. Either the current film will be canceled when it has all of four months left in post-production and will likely only continue to be worked on for three before its in the can or we'll get New Mutants and then be told we won't get a sequel even if it's good. And we won't get a brand new team after the old team goes away. Why pay to see a film with a cliffhanger at the end if audiences know that it won't amount to anything?

And why ditch Tatum as Gambit when he's never even appeared on screen?

All I said was the MCU can turn X-Men main team films into the billion dollar property it should be. How they do it is up to them of course. I just trust that they have the ability to do it.

And why ditch Tatum as Gambit when he's never even appeared on screen?

The question is where is Tatum on the career spectrum? Would he be willing to sign up for the team movies with Director X for the long term in a bit part? Or is he near that next level actor who show up like RDJ/Tony Stark and the Avengers or in one movie as the villain.
