I didn't say nobody would know of them. Just that they could be not known publicly. The rest is just tv stuff. The movies have shown they don't care and crossovers have only been a one way street so far.

Plus it's not like the movies have conveyed every aspect of the mcu. There are always new aspects of it to be explored.

Then you run into problem that they weren't in Hydra's radar per TWS, they were absent during the Sokovia Accords, SHIELD and Hydra have never recruited them, Hydra didn't experiment on them like the Inhumans, they were absent during several world - ending events, and several other items in the MCU that should have brought them up. The Inhumans explosion and round up being a big one.

If they drop the "it's all connected" mantra, they're in a better situation, but it's awkward either way.

Great idea, SPO2. That could be the reason Xavier creates the school and starts training the kids that will become the X-Men. To protect these kids from prejudice and hate crimes from bigots.

It's not a problem if only a few hundred mutants have existed. Xavier could have worked with the Goverment to keep mutants a secret or he could have mind wiped people himself. Of course once thousands of mutant kids start appearing this becomes impossible even for him, to keep them a secret.

The difference being the Inhumans would have a normal ration of adults to children. In the case of mutants, those older ones in hiding would be forced to act because of suddenly there are a lot of children who pass the genetic screens without Inhuman markers. With children coming and a reason to look at them you now have a school for the gifted. Given a few more years when Steve Rogers, Tony Stark and the rest age out of active avenging then you have a team in place to step in to assume the MCU mantel.

It still seems redundant. Genetically different humans in hiding, sudden explosive growth, group of humans with powers come out in the open. Then you have the problem of much of their stories already being covered by the Inhumans in AoS.

If they do the X-Men only as Singer did them in the early 2000s then yes, they'll be redundant and not much different to the Inhumans.

But if they're more colourful and have their classic costumes then they'll immediately stand out and be more interesting.

I'm thinking that Fantastic Four will need some more time before a reboot. 2016 is probably still on people's minds.
Fant4stic is on nobody's mind lol. Hardly anyone went to see it in the first place, and the ones who did probably forgot about it because of how dull it was. Plus, as soon as Marvel got Spidey back they put him in a movie instantly. Same with Daredevil (tv show). I don't think Marvel needs to waste any time with a FF reboot.

The problem is the government was partially Hydra.

I'd easily say the X-Men would need a bit of a break before the Fantastic 4

Yes, more interesting. But it still covers the exact same story beats, and still has a good chunk of their story lines already covered. Still redundant.

That's the other thing about this deal. No matter what happens, this isn't going to stop the release of upcoming films. Those movies are gonna get released no matter what.

Even if the deal goes through and gets announced, it will also take time to transition. And you still have government oversight and approval to contend with.

For a new Doctor Doom you have to include Latveria and the fact that he's the leader of a sovereign nation. Giving him some levels of diplomatic immunity.
it'd be reeeeal convenient if there was some ruined eastern european failed state that just had a city dropped on it that could be reborn as some nation for a certain doctor....:woot:

I see what you are doing here, but I'd rather Latveria be its own country. Doom is very proud of his Latverian home and heritage and that it's his country.

maybe the failure of sokovia causes regional instability then like an arab spring, and is a bordering nation, and gives way for doom to rally the people and overthrow the government

either way, if marvel got the rights back, they'd be foolish not to have it have somehow ripple effect latveria

To be honest, I want to see X-men characters more than I want to see X-men movies.
I'd bet money that Marvel would shelve X-men movies for years.

Sokovia IS Latveria. The name was changed when Victor's ancestors were deposed and assassinated. He's bringing it back, baby!

Not many are going to be watching too much of Inhumans so I think we're ok on that front.

If they focus on the X-Men (outside of Wolverine), and use a villain outside of Magneto/Mystique it is already going to feel very fresh. We haven't really seen these guys as a well functioning team of developed characters which is a big part of the appeal and what made them so popular in the first place.

Could you have imagined this in 2007? Just 10 years ago? X Men's going home!

Honestly...no. I couldn't imagine Spidey being a part of the MCU, just a couple of years ago.

What are the chance Hugh Jackman comes back...he did express how much he would have loved for Wolvy & some of the Xmen to have been part of the MCU.

This just seemed like such a far off dream even just like a month ago. Much like Spider-Man seemed to be. Now look where we are. Hopefully Spider-Man being fully integrated (though we still don't know what the Spiderverse thing is at this point) and Hulk/Namor's distribution rights follow :)

Zarex...you're looking at the wrong link my friend.....look at the updated link.

yeah, just a month ago no one would've even considered this a possibility

and now its happening. Life is funny that way.

I love the idea of this and hope it holds true. And God, let the first property to be incorporated into the MCU be the Fantastic Four.
