...he'll probably stay free of any charge, for one single reason: the only substantial proof that he was the one who made NK, i.e. the videotape, was sent into space (that is, if it wasn't crushed by that big ass boulder).

Since NK didn't had any, uh, protection, the tape will SURELY degauss in the vacuum.

Sure, there were eyewitnesses (Lois, Supes, Rich and, if not eaten, Kitty), but as the O.J. case showed us, you need more than that to send a man to prison.

And Luthor never gave the World an official statement saying that he was the one who made that bigass piece of rock, like Osama loves to do.

And seeing how there's still a miniature NK on Luthor's basement, there's the stretch of a possibility that he may manage to grow more of them crystals.

No to mention that shard of Kryptonite with Supes' blood at the hospital... the other shard Lois threw off the window of the plane... and the OTHER shard that stayed in Lex's hands.

Supes' blood poisoned by Kryptonite... cloning... Bizarro, maybe?

It is just ONE possibility. And I see so many.

But, WB being WB, I'm pretty sure they'll choose the easiest route.

Supes never shows up in court, Richard saw nothing and Kitty won't betray Lex out of fear... it's just Lois, and she has no evidence, and Luthor has money for ace lawyers... Luthor's a free man...

Rocks don't grow crystals... Luthor has no more kryptonian connection except info and a shard of Kryptonite... that's it... he can't be the main villain for the sequels...

Whilst I'm not exacty on the same pag as you here, I do agree that one positive to come from SR is the bags of potential for future scenarios. The general public were unaware of Luthor's shenanigans, so it's perfectly feasible for him to set up Lexcorp or whatever.

The only bad thing in SR was movie kid. Send him off to live with Richard, send him to Starlabs to be cut into a thousand pieces. Just get rid of him.
