I know renewal is logical, but The CW doesn't do logic.

So if things do take a turn for the worst, what do we do?

I say it should involve green rocks somehow.

Obviously not throwing green rocks at CW HQ or Dawn Ostroff (though we should keep our options open), but mailing them in or something.

lol yea campign to CW HQ with piles and piles of kryptonite. But yea from all things we are hearing smallville is a go for 10th season and really the network needs it.

ok if this ever does happen....(not a happy thought) then I just pray they would give them enough of a warning to give the show the ending it needs. we've come 9 years now, if it doesn't get the right ending.......someone is getting a punch in the face.

If SV gets cancelled, the CW will die with it. They'll only be screwing themselves.

totally tomwelling4sups. But yea i doubt they would cancel the show out of the blue its one of their top shows so it would be an idiotic move on their part. Though the producers since last yr have been saying the network would give them time. But yea who knows if they would go back on their word. Though if the show is ending i rather it be ending on its own and the producers saying yes this is the end now.

The only successful shows they will have left will be Supernatural and The Vampire Dairies....the CW would die a slow and painful death.

the producers have a plan of how to end the series this season should the CW cancel the show. I honestly don't think we have to worry about it though.

The writers begin work on the season finale this weekend, if they haven't already, so the CW really has to decide A.S.A.P.

i am sure the network/studios have already made their decision and we fans will likely know within the next few days/next week the official call.

Do the writers really need a lot of advance notice, Clark is basically Superman without the suit and flight, both acheived within one episode. I actually think keeping the show as Smallville (meaning Clark can't become Superman) holds it back, it's just been treading water for at least 4 seasons now.

well they would probably want to know by the time at least the last 3-4 episodes are written. so they know what they can and cant do, and budget and all that.

If it really is the series finale, they'd probably want to get Michael Rosenbaum and Kristen Kreuk back, which requires tight scheduling and planning.

it didnt say its not renewel it jsut didnt get the renewal yet. i am sure they will have the official call soon. Plus as i stated over in the season 9 thread there is still plently of time for call to come down. We have between now and may upfronts. Plus last yr was order around now, and the year prior it was march. So nothing to worry about just yet. Plus on the good note we already know the cast is signed for a 10th season. So we know it isnt casting issues. its all network decisions, and we know the big wigs in charge above dawn love the show. Plus the network needs it for its fridays holding.

It's insulting renewing all these other series, and not renewing Smallville too.

Unlike One Tree Hill, which is marred by the problem of its cast renegotiating contracts, and LUX, which is still a newbie series, Smallville doesn't have any known issues (the writers, cast and crew are all signed on for Season 10) and is more worthy of a renewal than every other CW series, aside from The Vampire Diaries and maybe America's Next Top Model.

sure it is but like i pointed out in past yrs the show has been picked up at different points in the year same with other shows. Plus for all we know the reason it didnt get call with others is cause they were setting up details like if its going to be the finale year and get all that set first before call. Or maybe due to the show is currently on a break from filming they want to wait to its back in work and all that. In the end i am sure its going to be picked up. We just have to give it a little more time. For all we know it could be announced later today, tomorrow, next week, or heck when they are in the month long break they have coming up after episode 15.

I think they should cancel Smallville so that a Superman movie can be in the works.......

it'll get renewed. It's not like the CW is bursting with great content.

well even if a movie was to go into production next yr which would be the earliest it could go, the show would be over in may 2011 and the earliest film would be out is 2012 or 2013 so it really wouldnt matter then. Since smallville would be over by at least a yr before another movie happen. Its more likely the show is going to be picked up for final season. Like someone pointed out last week maybe they could be waiting after episode 14 an 15 air cause there is going to be another month break before we see the final 7 episodes of the current season. Plus i pointed out in past yrs we have gotten pickup order at different months. All that we need to know is that its picked up prior to final episodes going into production which i believe will be end of march or early april time frame.

Supernatural is infinitely better, cheaper, and has yet to go off the rails the way Smallville has? :whatever:

Just a thought.

Supernatural WAS good......until 2 or 3 seasons ago.

Smallville didn't get good until season 5 :)

Smallville didn't get good until the first episode. :awesome:
