I doubt Ultimate Spider-Man will still be around by then so would this be the next animated Spider-Man series

You could've just asked this question in the thread about the animated film.

Short answer is no (OK, the short answer is maybe, but probably no). If the movie is a success, they'll likely continue to make movies. That's what you do with successes - you try to repeat them. Particularly because you'd want to keep the same creative team and they're a film team, not a television team.

ETA: I just thought about it some more. Change my probably no to a definitely no. Sony doesn't have the rights to make a Spider-Man television show.

Lad did you have to make a separate thread for this topic. It could be talked in the animated film thread.

Second they couldnt make a show out of this. As that is were I believe they cede rights to marvel along the merch rights. If anything if this animates film does well we could have an animated film series running along side are new mcu spidey in live action.

I read the titles in two ways:

If the animated film is a success, should they continue it as a series in the vain of SSM and USM?
If the animated film is a success, should they continue it as a series like Shrek and what-not?

I'd love to see either happen.

yeah, I was just about to say this.

honestly man, there really was not a need to make a new thread for this question.

maybe if the animated film had its own forum but it currently doesn't.

No, this movie would not be continued as a television series, for one simple reason: Sony does not control the television licensing rights to Spider-Man any longer.

If you mean a TV/Netflix series, I wouldn't mind...
but it seems like it would be better to continue making movies. The problem is it would compete with the live action spidey films... and I fear it might win...
SPidey in the MCU is limited to the MCU, and it's events effect him. His amount of movies released will probably be slightly limited, and the amount of villains/characters to come out will probably be limited too. (After all, it would be chaos to release a bunch of new villains into the MCU but not mention them or have them show up in any other film.) The spidey universe is so big, it may have to be dulled down a bit to allow it to work for movies in the MCU. However, the cartoon spidey wont have these problems. Not to mention realism wont be a factor at all either. This is partially why I thought it would be better to keep Spidey seperate from the MCU.
The MCU spidey has some going for him too, as he is connected to the MCU so even people who don't care for him would still watch his movies if they really like the MCU.

"Should" and "can" are completely different things.
If you think they shouldn't for the reason that they can't, you are severely limiting your mind's opinion.

It's so weird spidey license is so spilt up. Marvel has the merch and tv rights. But sony kept the film righyd. Personally it probably would have made more sense for sony to have sold spidey back. And then sony would have gotten a quick influx of money which we know they need. And then they could have maybe worked out a deal with marvel if box office for marvel movie made x amount they get some back end deal and some more cash.

By keeping the rights, Sony ensures their ability to make money on the IP long-term as opposed to selling the rights for a quick one-time payout.

I get thst. I was just saying if it's true that marvel sis offer them crazy mknry. It probably would have been better for them to sump a franchise they at the time lost direction on and wipe there hands of it. But hell sony still isn't out of the water yet. So be interesting to see what happens to sony.
