The Amazing Spider-Man If Venom is used again, this is how he should look!

Should Venom (and presumably black suit Spider-Man) have the white squares on the back of their hands?

I think so.

It made sense in the first trilogy not to have them, because Spidey already had organic webbing, but in this he doesn't. So I think it would be cool if he shot it out of the tops of his hands.

I would further argue in their favor that the white patches can be helpful to the audience during fight scenes in dark areas.

And what kind of textures should Venom have?

It should be glossy, to show that it's alien/whatever the Ultimate could be described as.

I don't really see the alien=glossy connection. I was thinking matte for the black areas, with a animal-like texture like skin or scales, and a glossy white. A matte black should blend into shadows better, thus making it easier to keep Venom hidden for suspense.

Well, I think it should retain the texture of the Spider-Man costume. However, I don't know how nice that would look.

I'm thinking that, if possible with practical effects, it would be great if symbiote Spider-Man and especially Venom's costumes could show the contracting and relaxing of their muscles as the move, to sell the symbiote being a living costume bonded to its host.

Definitely. Since they want the designs to be different from the Rami trilogy, they should just use the comic costumes. They're not cheesy & the general public seems to think both costumes look cool. Do it, Sony!

I'm fine without the white patches on the back of the hands. Ultimate Spidey still looked great with the black suit. I just want the giant white Spider to be there.

Agreed.

Agreed. Personally, I could go either way on the white squares. The lack of the white wraparound spider symbol on the black suit was one of many missed opportunities in Spider-Man 3.

I was thinking something like that, having the suit "move" so to speak.

Why did Rami not use the classic symbiote costume again? I remember there being a real life costume they made of it.

I think they said the costume was too shiney, when he was all black. Or there wasn't enough texture to it. In other words, they didn't bother to try hard enough.

There's a fantastic manip of the black suit, which of course I can't find right now, that would have looked just great on screen.

The costume they used looked nice, but you can't beat the classics!

Yes, the suit would (again, if possible with practical effects) adhere to the host's skin (in Venom's case, it is their skin), and would move with the host. Just as your bicep contracts and bulges when you flex your arm about your elbow, the same would hopefully be evident when Venom does the same, if practical effects allows for that kind of thing.

I ask the same question.

Pretty much.

And let's not forget that the change in the design of Spidey's black suit kind of caused Venom's look not to make as much sense as it did in the source material.

Found it. Just make the Spider bigger and have it wrapped around his body and it would have been perfect.

Or just use a wraparound version of this symbol,

like they did with Venom, just make it white instead of dingy gray.

Yeah I want the classic symbol on his chest too. Although seeing as it's a reboot they might go for something a bit different.
