I'd happily drop Fraser for Sayombhu Mukdeeprom or (if he's not retired which he sadly seems to be) Michael Seresin. The idea of a total reworking of how these movies look is super exciting to me - which isn't a slam on The Batman, a gorgeous movie, but I think its a lot cooler for there to be giant stylistic shifts between movies than a consistent style - so my main concern with Fraser potentially not coming back is them trying to continue his aesthetic without him. Ground up rework it if that's the case - 89 to Returns, BB to TDK it.

Reeves has already stated in interviews this year that his intent for the whole saga is to have them feel of a piece to one another and share the same general look and feel across the board, with there being wiggle room and evolutions here and there (i.e. The Penguin having more of a handheld, documentary like vibe to it in contrast to the more elaborate cinematography in The Batman Part 1).

well, i for one find this approach insane. imo The Batman is one of the best shot movies of the 2000s. I don't htink there's many DPs who would be able to light batman as good as fraser managed

I love Fraser, I love how The Batman looks, there are also several amazing people out there who would shoot a gorgeous Batman movie. I just think limiting them to the pre established look Fraser cooked up is boring - if there’s a change, treat it as an opportunity to make something new and not just a substitute for the guy you really want.

I completely disagree with creating a new look. Glad Reeves agrees that he wants the movies to feel like they are connected and visually similar. I hate how BB to TDK look completely different. I preferred the look of BB so it was disappointing how they changed it.

I want these movies to keep that same visual style throughout the universe since it is this universe and makes it feel connected.

Villeneuve said he wants Messiah to have a completely different look from these last two films, and if The Penguin is any indication, whoever this hypothetical new cinematographer is would probably just be asked to ape Fraser's style for the first film anyways, so to me it feels quite daft to not at least try to get Fraser back.
