If Sony change their mind about him returning or he just leaves who do you want to direct? I want Brad Bird personally.

Anyone who says Christopher Nolan or Zach Snyder should put the keyboard down and leave the internet lol.

If they really want to use Kraven's Last Hunt, adult Peter, less CG and just overall make it more grounded, physical then...

Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler)

John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless)

Gavin O'Connor (Pride & Glory, Warrior)

Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible, "Penny Dreadful")

And some other options like Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas) or Scott Frank (The Lookout, A Walk Among the Tombstones). Personally I'd even like Olvier Stone but don't know if he's able to work in this studio system... And yes, Goddard would be a good option too. :)

Not that I am suggesting Nolan or Snyder but why are you bringing up their names...only to insult them ? I find it unnecessarily rude.

As for the director choices -How about Phil Lord and Chris Miller ?

Sony tried to get them for Sony's animated movie division but they declined citing many problems -

Lord and Miller seem like an obvious choice

they appear to have the midas touch nowadays, and their involvement would sort of ease the pain of marvel not being in the picture.

But if sony and arad keep rearing their ugly heads into creative control, none of this will matter. the new movies are destined to be just as worse as TASM2.

Joss Whedon.

With Marvel Studios having creative control.

Christopher Noal. I know people say that his movies are dark and that he is cold but if you have seen interstellar that movie is very emotional movie and shows he can do emotion just fine. Now yes his movies are dark but he is a good story teller so who's to say he cant tell a sm movie that is both dark and lighthearted at the same time. Sm has had some dark moments and I think Noal could do a great job and balancing that out. Has Zimmer is know for doing soundtracks to action movies yet he did a great job on lion king witch showed he has more versitillite then people think. This could be a changes for Noal to do the same kind of thing.

Brad Bird (Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol)
Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter/Prisoner of Azkaban)
Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow)

Go with a an action pro/visionary with a proven record.

No more green, indie directors with one, non-action film under their belt.

Liman's an awesome choice. Would love him to do an Emily Blunt led Captain Marvel movie, though.

It'll never happen but Whedon would be amazing directing a spider man movie

Realistically Goddard. Dream (-istically ?) Whedon.

Whedon, Goddard, Lord/Miller or Brad Bird. That's as far as I could narrow it down to. (Hearing some villain rumors could help in zeroing in on a director though)

After Marc Webb,

Johnny Ultimmate.

Martin Ammazing.

Edward Spectaccular.

Fincher. I want a quality A list director with a proven track record.

Bond... James Cameron.
