If you could re-arrange the DCEU

If I could re-arrange the DCEU in terms of film release, how I would do it:

1- Man of Steel (1st film of the DCEU)
2- Batman: The Dark Knight (2nd film of the DCEU)

3- Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (3rd film of the DCEU)

4- Wonder Woman (4th film of the DCEU)

5- Aquaman (5th film of the DCEU)
6- Justice League (6th film of the DCEU)

Phase 1 Complete


Phase 2

7- Suicide Squad (7th film of the DCEU)
8- Shazam (8th film of the DCEU)
9- The Flash (9th film of the DCEU)
10- Man of Steel 2 (10th film of the DCEU)

11- Batman 2 (11th film of the DCEU)
12- Justice League 2 (12th film of the DCEU)

Phase 2 Complete


That is 2 phases done right there just as an example for all of you

Creating a movie from scratch goes a little beyond rearranging.

I don't think it's a matter or rearranging, so much as it (would have been) WB figuring out who they wanted their main characters to be, and then having a five year plan (at least) of how they were going to proceed.

Batman and Superman were always going to be contenders, and Wonder Woman was a good shout because it helps the equality angle, and lets be honest, there's more male superheroes generally than there are women, so it's nice to have some female heroes at the forefront.

Thus, if we went for three films a year, then the opening year would have been Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman; the latter two as origin stories, with a veteran Batman coming out of retirement film. Simply shoot Superman first, then Wonder Woman, then Batman. At the conclusion of Batman, all three characters would be established as living in the modern day, alongside each other. We'd call that phase one.

Between Phase 1 and Phase 2, have a film that's not focused on a hero. Either Suicide Squad, or Gotham City Sirens (vs Birds of Prey?)

Phase two, I'd follow suit in the sense of two male heroes, and another female. I guess we'd naturally have to include Flash and Aquaman as the two male heroes, and as much as I'd like Hawkgirl as the next female, I'd always preferred her in an origin film with Hawkman I think, so maybe they could've gone with Zatanna, or maybe Vixen? That'll wrap Phase 2.

Between Phase 2 and Phase 3, have another film that's not focused on a hero. Maybe another Suicide Squad, or Black Adam (and introduce the Hawks)

Phase 3 would've been the likes of Shazam, Hawks, and Lantern Corps.

3- Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice (Snyder Cut; Wonder Woman would still show up; better Lex casting of course and Doomsday would still happen) (3rd film of the DCEU)

4- Wonder Woman (4th film of the DCEU)
5- Aquaman (5th film of the DCEU)
6- Justice League (6th film of the DCEU; with team members Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Black Canary just as a way to start off; villain would be Brainiac) (Phase 1 Complete after JL)


1- Batman 2 (7th film of the DCEU)
2- Aquaman 2 (8th film of the DCEU)
3- Man of Steel 2 (9th film of the DCEU)
4- Suicide Squad (10th film of the DCEU)
5- Justice League 2 (11th film of the DCEU; Steppenwolf would be villain instead here; new team members being Cyborg, Green Lantern, Zatanna, Martian Manhunter)

6- Blue Beetle & Booster Gold (12th film of the DCEU) (Phase 2 Complete)


1- Wonder Woman 2 (13th film of the DCEU)
2- The Flash (14th film of the DCEU)
3- Green Lantern Corps (15th film of the DCEU)
4- Shazam (16th film of the DCEU)

I never would've allowed Zack Snyder to be in charge of everything. Solo movies of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman would've come first. Also, Man of Steel would've gotten a sequel before Justice League.

Among many mistakes, going to Batman v Superman after a polarizing Man of Steel was a grievous error.
