If you had to choose a franchise to be rebooted, which would it be?

Conan The Barbarian.
Lethal Weapon. With Stone Cold and The Rock. Just kidding you guys!
The Last Star Fighter.
Willow so we can have a new great fantasy trilogy reboot.
Godzilla. For real this time.
Jaws.
Sinbad.
The Longest Day With the stars of today like they did with the original.
The Western movies which have been forgotten today for big box office junk.

Definately jaws.

I would have suggested that one, except making Jaws a sequelable franchise was problematic enough the first time around. What they should have done was follow Hooper aboard the Aurora, since it would have been more logical for a guy who studies sharks for a living to end up in the thick of more of them, as opposed to trying to convince moviegoers that various sharks of the same species would head for the same island or pursue the same family three more times over.

Nothing really comes to my mind...

a few years ago I would have said Batman

one year ago, I would have said James Bond

Now, I'm gonna say Fantastic Four. Just because it sucked so much.
I want to wait on a Superman reboot until I have enough Hollywood clout to get the job ;)

X-men. was good for what it was but a lot of things I wanted to see was not in the movie.

Fantastic Four. SOME OF THE CAST MEMBERS WERE TOO YOUNG!

Goorge Clooney Mr Fantastic
Heather Locklear Sue storm

Somebody else as DR Doom

Heather Locklear...not ****ing bad!

Here was mine
Reed: Scott Bakula
Sue: Kristy Swanson
Johnny: Paul Walker
Ben: David Boreanaz

I dont know about Boreanaz being Ben Grimm.

- Highlander -

As much as I loved the first movie when I was a kid, the sequels all suck, and as I watch the first movie now, it sort of sucks as well (though it has a lot of great ideas in it, otherwise I wouldn't suggest a reboot).

Get a... you know... eeer... what's it called? GOOD ACTOR to play Connor McLeod, instead of Christopher Lambert. Make sure there's some absolutely awesome swordplay adapted to the time, place and characters fighting. So we would see all types of sword fighting, but all of it very carefully choreographed.
Include some great sequences set in ancient times with great on location shoots to give us beautiful landscapes...
Don't use any contemporary pop/rock music, because as much as I love Queen, they really, really help drag the movie down and date it terrible. Orchestral music only.
Badass, evil villain... preferably named Kurgan.

Also, it should be a trilogy, spanning from the birth of Connor McLeod in the first movie, and ending in present day New York in the final movie.
Time periods that should be included are:
- Scotland during the middle of the 1500's.
- Feudal Japan.
- The American revolutionary war.
- The American old West.
- World War I.
- World War II.
- Present day New York.

This would mean that no element of the first movie would be set in present day.

- Conan -

Just like Highlander, Conan is fantastic conceptually, but this movie just isn't that great as a whole (and the sequel sucks). As opposed to Highlander though, I don't really have any problems with the music, as it is fantastic. Let's face it though... it's plagued by bad acting (don't you dare say Ahnuld can actually act), and the genre of fantasy can really be done a lot better visually in this time (the landscapes and cities and other visuals didn't really look all that great).
A big thing would be to base the story more on Robert E. Howard's Conan (the movies deviated pretty much from the source).

Just as with Highlander, the fighting could also really use an overhaul...

I think it's important that Ben Grimm be a looker before he turns into the Thing. Boreanaz is same age/hair color/etc from the comic. I'm not set on him, but he's the best I came up with. Bakula and Walker are the important ones.

The Matrix make a sequel to the first movie and say that the other two where a dream or something.

Ghostbusters.

As much as I am in favor of more Ghostbusters movies, I would not abide by anyone else starring in them.

holy smokes you put alot of thought into a Highlander movie

in saying that ****ing right my man, what you wrote sounds badass too, I would dig it.

Who do you think should play Mcloed?

Maybe like a Gerard Butler?

Gerry Butler wouldn't be a bad choice at all. To be frank though, I haven't really thought about the casting.
For a short second I though about Christian Bale, but I pushed the thought aside since it kind of annoys me how Christian Bale seems to be the preferred choice for every action part lately.

Just keep it to actual Scots, so Butler would be great, and Ewan McGregor has already proved adept at the sword. Among other Scottish actors to be included, Ian McDiarmid and Ray Park . . . I see a theme! :D

possibly like Billy Conelly could play villa-lobos, or whatever his name was that Sean Connery played.

In that line of thinking, half of the cast of the bondock saints lol

Haha, its cause Bale is such a hard ass

Yeah, I love him, but it would be to trendy of a pick

Superman & Transformers (yeah yeah, it's not out yet - but what it's looking like, it's disappointing)

"The Question" - sounds like good ideas!

Ghostbusters.
you do understand that if you recast ghostbusters then all hell would break loose?
you mention any of the actors names and Ghostbusters instantly springs to mind(with Murray the possible exeption having had so many notches on his belt). if you metion Aykroyd people either think Blues Brothers or Ghostbusters. and if you mentioned Ramis then ghostbusters would be the only thing that springs to anyones mind, is anyone really going to remember him from Stripes?

noone should touch Ghostbusters:cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

Superman Returns and possibly other Superman movies. I don't think an origin movie is needed reall consedering that a) the first superman movie is quite good and b) doing a origin movie IMO would be a disgrace to Chris reeves.

Star Wars also comes into mind...the prequels.

And despite me being AN HUGE HUGE HUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE Die Hard Matrix Fan , i'd love to see it being remade again. Keep al the Philosophy stuff , but ramp up the action big time. Make it truly something worthy
