ONE DC story to kind of "convert" a non-DC fan, what would it be? Y'know, you're typical fed up with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman person.

My best guesses have been:

Brave and the Bold
The New Frontier
Formerly Known as the Justice League
Green Arrow: Quiver
Green Lantern: Rebirth
JSA Vol. 1
Teen Titans: A Kid's Game
The Spirit (the current series, not that Eisner's would be a bad idea :o)

But I really haven't been able to narrow it down outside of that.

If I had to recommend one story to help someone convert from Marvel to DC... I would recommend One More Day

JSA would've been great. It was a big part of why I started to really love the DC universe after growing up mostly with Marvel.

Perez's Teen Titans from the 80's. I was always a fan of Green Lantern but Perez's Teen Titans made this Marvel Zombie a monthly reader.

I would recommend learning the correct spelling of "recommend".:o

I second this, and had the same experience. I would recommended the Judas Contract Trade. You get to see Robin become Nightwing

Even better, you get to see Nightwing's first costume--and laugh. :)

Make sure you get the issues with Brother Blood. Now THAT is a great villain.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more that see,s the best choice. Unlike a lot of other stories, it's very strong in both characterization and plotting. Not to mention, it's written very much like older comics: serialized, but still self-contained.

The New Teen Titans is fantastic, but I worry it may be a bit too campy.

Identity Crisis. Or Joe Kelly's JLA.

EDIT: And the latest series of Blue Beetle. Definitely do that.

Kelly's JLA will just make newbies upset when they read Final Crisis. :(

I think everything from over a year ago will just make newbies upset when they read anything from the past year.

This by storyline or single issue?

Well What converted me was Identity Crisis. It remains one of my favorite stories and introduced me to Green Arrow,Deathstroke and plenty others. Also Johns Flash helped.

She doesn't like Flash.

...yeah, she's a bit of a *****.

Identity Crisis is good, but my choice is Batman: Long Halloween... then let the games begin...

Hey, how about Kingdom Come? It focuses primarily on Superman, whom everyone knows, and it features recognizable characters in most of its other major roles, or it gives you some introduction to them, like with the Spectre.

It was the mid 80s everybody dressed like that. Besides... look who taught Dick his fashion sense?

Damn, he's a menace for dressing in zebra camo? Why is Dick such a racist against zebras? :(

It seems he is emitting some strange elecro-magnetic force though.

Like all Zebras.

Batman Dark Victory, I prefer this over killing Joke. Thats right, I said it.
