I think the lunacy part goes for activist groups in general. Do MRA groups tackle some legitimate issues? Yes, but those issues are padded with extremist and misinformed ideals that turn the whole group into a joke.

While it is true that women should definitely be careful and take more precautions to stay safe from potential rape, his overall plan is pretty darn stupid. He literally says right there that a women should be raped to teach her to be more careful about it in the future. That's awful.

The implication of this thread title is pretty atrocious. Like feminists (and every other group), men's rights activists come in all shapes and forms, from the logical and well-meaning majority, to the crazy extremists that should be ignored like this dude. Labeling the majority as scumbags because of the scumbag nature of a few isn't cool, wise or correct, regardless of the activist group. Imagine the reaction if this thread title was "If you weren't already aware that feminists are scumbags..."

This guy is ****ed up, there's no debate there, but if you get past the clickbait headline and read his proposal, he isn't pro-rape at all, which I think is important to acknowledge. His fight to "legalize" it is (in his mind) a way to make women more aware of the danger, and thereby act safer. I can see the logic he is trying to use (as weak and ill-advised as it is), but this is the absolute worst way to go about stopping rape.

Let me be clear before anyone misreads this and starts attacking me: I DO NOT AGREE WITH HIM. AT ALL. Rape has personally affected my family and loved ones. It is an absolutely heinous act and I personally think punishment is far too lenient in most instances.
