Look at the reaction to Sam Jackson playing Nick Fury in Iron Man.

There were race-related reactions to that? That's kind of weird, considering the comic version is a carbon copy of Jackson.

i didn't follow the Iron Man boards, but the friends i have that know who Nick Fury is didn't mind the change in race. a couple of them (older cats) didn't even know about Ultimate Nick Fury and they were still fine with Sam Jack playing Fury.

Thats because Jackson gave Marvel his permission to use his likeness for Ultimate Nick Fury.

Tis true, that's why any negative reacting caused by his race surprise me. He IS Nick Fury.

Yeah, he is Nick Fury. The problem is probably just that many didn't expect Utimate Fury.

It's funny. The Ultimate Marvel Universe is around to draw in younger audiences, yet the only people I've seen who seem to have been aware that there's a version of Fury that's black are the older fans who still buy comics.

Well that trailer is pleasantly surprising. I'm not expecting much from this movie, DragonBall is not an easy thing to translate to live action. But that looks like it'll be amusing in a "it wasn't a great movie but I was entertained" kind of way.

I really liked the trailer but the hate surrounding this movie is unprecedented in North America that I think it will end up with 0% at rottentomatoes and will bomb hard.

I don't know why all the movie bloggers downright hate it. They hate the anime so they hate the movie.

Sigh.

I can only pray that this movie surprises at the boxoffice.
