Yo, Finally got around to getting myself a scanner.

I don't have a lot of things to work with after my house got burgled, they took all my pens and such bar a few.
These are some warm up's a did anyway, I coloured them in some crappy pencils because I was bored.

These are the near enough finished designs for a comic I'm working on called the Baron. First pic is the Baron himself, the second is Professor Pendulum. Green suit as a nod to most of my fav villians, who are also green.

The next few is from a Sci-Fi comic I was working on a while ago with a guy I lived with, it never got of the ground because, well... he's lazy and could never be bothered to write the damn thing, I fell in love with these designs though. Simple, but I nailed the look of them first time around...

I don't want to bring myself to buy photoshop again, anyone know where I can just download it? I know I'm cheep, but I have already bought it once before! it's not my fault it was stolen!

Your style, especially in the first piece reminds me a lot of Mike Krahulik's work. Awesome stuff, man.

Yeah, thats a problem I've had with that charcter, he looks an awful lot like Tycho.
I played around with his face and gave him a few more distinguished features in new pictures, more defind nose and such, I dunno. it's anoying becuase I really liked the original design of the character.

love your stuff. Can't wait for more!

Kinda reminds me of Fish Police

Very original designs

Love em

Thanks for the kind words, guys :)

I'm trying to get used to my new tablet, it's very small compared to my last one, and I'm having trouble assigning the buttons to do things like undo straight away and stuff.

In fairness, I've only just had it open for about an hour and have only been messing about with it.

Wow I love your style!

Ok, this has always bothered me, and I figue you guys could help me out a bit.
In Photoshop, I've never managed to get the brush tool to not look pixilated (is that a word?) when I zoom in.

I've set the resolution to 600 when I've opened a new page, but then I can't get the image I want to draw over on it.
Anyone know how to fix this?
I've also got Paint.net, if that helps.

Photoshop is all based around pixel mapping. so at a high enough zoom, everything will look pixely. There's no real way around it. however, to get images that look good at a decent size, just draw much bigger and scale down.

If you want a seemless vector, without any pixelization, i'd reccomend trying illustrator. that's what it's best at. it's hard to adapt to, though.

Ahhh, thanks.
Downloading it now, a friend was telling me about it today, too.

See, the drawings I have are all done on A4, I don't treally know my way around photoshop and stuff as of yet.

I like to come back to these threads and see my old stuff :)

Heres some new. It's been a while since I was here, so hello to everyone.

The Baron evolved into something on a much grander scale, he's now known as Damien Darkwood.

Good, I'm not the only one. That's unquestionably a good thing, too. I've always loved this kind of cartoony, minimalist style, it contrasts well with the usual super-defined stuff you see in superhero comics.

I have a portfolio review thing to go to at Kapow in April, doing some Marvel and DC stuff l, here's an unfinished marvel thing...

Like everyone else I'm loving the style of your art. It's your own unique stamp, and the outside lines are bold making the characters stand out more. Keep up the excellent work.

^ Cheers Spidey-Dude.

Here's the first page of my portfolio for this thing at Kapow-Con. It's a pose I've already posted here, but I always liked how it looked, and I figure "play to your strengths", right?

Absolutely bricking it, only have till April, everything I draw never seems to feel good enough to me T_T

nice, when is kapow? im trying to convince a friend to go with me, dont really want to go on my own but none of my mates are into comics

Kapow is taking place on the 9th and 10th of April! Looks to be good! Its only the first one, so I am expecting a few bumps. But the cost of Tickets makes up for that!

awesome work man, loving your style.:)

Pushing the crap out of myself for this viewing. Just found out that tons more people are interested than they thought, so now it's more a case of dropping my portfolio off in the morning, hoping they like my stuff enough to contact me, and then go talk about my stuff for a little bit.

Trying to put some story telling in, I assume that's what the comic people are more interested in than just pretty pictures of super heroes, unfortunately :(

Gonna buy some water colours to do a few things in the background with, so this isn't finished completely yet, but I really do like the way it turned out. Any Crit is welcome at all guys, thanks for the kind words prior to it! :)

Got a few more things done for my portfolio today!

This one is unfinished, but I'm using it to replace the last one I posted of him in the same pose. Trying to show a few story elements in the art work which will hopfully lead to questions when I get my portfolio reviewed.
