I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

@DarthSkywalker @flickchick85 I got $100 for you each if you dont think you dont see Born Again season 2 as a massive improvement next year. I think now that they have a singular vision and clear direction going, season 2 is going to be an absolute banger.

I enjoyed season one alot but theres no denying it was a mess that didnt know what it wanted to be until episode 8 lol

I hope you hold to that, because FC and I are definitely willing to collect. :funny:

What I'm looking for in Born Again is just not possible. The episodes people lost their minds for I thought were hot garbage. A singular vision only matters if you like the vision. And the only episode I liked came from the show before the reboot. And I didn't think it was great. It was just competent television that didn't crap on the pre-existing characters.

I mean, we got episodes by them. The problem isn't just the season arc, but also their individual episodes which were (in my humble opinion I gather matches theirs) really bad. The only time the show had any spark was in the bank robbery episode and it was like decent network TV level at best.

My problem is that the ONE episode I got any (mild) enjoyment out of in the whole season is the one that the current creative team wants to disown as it's from the previous showrunners, so that doesn't exactly bode well for my enjoyment of their "new direction."

I think we need to have an intervention here. Poor Kguillou has a gambling addiction. Listen dawg, I know the thrill of the bet is exciting, but you gotta look at the bigger picture. It's not healthy losing all the time like this :hehe:

In other news, Andor has ruined Star Wars for me forever. It has never been this good, and never will be this good again. But for this brief interlude, it was the most beautifully heart-wrenching journey imaginable, and I will be forever grateful. :hrt:

As I sit here watching the mediocrity of Rogue One, the post-show depression just sets in extra hard. :weeping:

Thank goodness there's a Supes trailer coming in 12 hours to revive me. :legacy:

I just finished season one of Andor tonight funny enough, so i’m 12 episodes away from catching up with you guys.

I still dont quite LOVE it yet but its very captivating television. And yes, @flickchick85 i saw the post credits scene; VERY intriguing.

I’m game for seeing how this story concludes in season 2 though.

Andor ruins television, period. It makes everything in the sci-fi/fantasy realm look... sub par.

I will say, The Pitt feels like it perfected how you do something of the concept of 24.

As for Born Again S2, if Jess isn't tossing Frank across the room and then dragging him to the police, then they did not understand S3. (Much less who another part of the army is likely to be)

Rogue One Defenders: Andor just makes Rogue One better.

Us sane people: No. It just proves how much potential it wasted.

kguillou, if someone isn't in love after "One Way Out" and "Fight the Empire" I just don't think we're ever going to agree on television. :funny:

The “fight the empire” speech was awesome. No argument there.

The themes of the show are incredibly resonant and the cast is great.

I think its just still just Andor himself, I’m not fully connecting with this guy for whatever reason. I feel much more invested in Bix than I do Andor. Lol

As one who legit hates Cassian in Rogue One (saddo handsome Latino is a stereotype the drives me up the wall) s2 is where he becomes a top 10 Star Wars character, only eclipsed by arguably the best Star Wars character.

He already gave him a bong in the dog treat commercial. :o
Just spreading the most inane nonsense you could find now, I see. :o

They will pick Gaga if they want the South American money.

I am now super worried that Rachael Taylor will be part of the "army". Which is my #2 fear of JJ returning, scrapping the developments of S3, (#1 of course, is bringing Tennet back)
Calm down it was a free concert. :o
