I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

I want to say like 2018 area? It was post JL theatrical release and pre Snyder Cut, and one of his social media posts for attention
Wasn’t there a deleted scene or something with a Dick Grayson tombstone in the background? It might’ve been a fake, but I recall seeing that photo somewhere on the internets and blogospheres.

If so, I am unaware of it. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist

If Superman fought Galactus who’d win?

And yes I know we’ll get the real answer in a few months. :o

Putting my oracle-like skills to use, I found this which is supposedly in the background of BvS:View attachment 139219View attachment 139220
I remember all those years ago on here posting this in the BvS boards. This was the moment I was one foot out of the universe they were “building”

Hopeful optimism sure, but this just told me everything I needed to know about what the creatives at the forefront and how the larger universe at play meant to them.

I’m just glad the new guys at least seem to have more reverence for the universe as a whole.

I don’t know why, but the discussion of Alfred not cleaning Dick’s grave in BvS reminds me of the scene in Batman Returns where Bruce first sees Penguin on television. In the background, Alfred is trimming the Christmas tree.

I was watching that with my youngest son, who was around 11 at the time. He said “look dad, Bruce is such a lazy rich snob in this film that he’s too lazy to even trim his own tree. He has his butler do it for him.”

Lazy rich snob or not, that was a BEAUITFUL ass Christmas tree.

And fireplace. :o

And it’s not even like there was a discussion or hint of who the Robin was. iirc, Snyder just casually dropped that it was Dick in a social media post.

They could’ve at least explored it as a subplot or something to add to Batman’s arc. But nope

It's like the black Superman suit. It just exists.

To be fair... what is the point of having a butler if you aren't going to make him do stuff for you. He's your employee for a reason.

I don’t know…when I see a privileged, wealthy guy relaxing while his elderly manservant climbs a ladder to decorate his tree, I can’t help but think:

Tim Burton's A Christmas Carol. Jenna Ortega as his first love Bell. Johnny Depp as Jacob Marley. Wynona Rider as Ghost of Christmas Past, Sasha Baron Conan as Ghost of Christmas Present, and Christopher Watkins as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. :wow:

That was Alfred's tree. Bruce was too busy focusing on Batman stuff (and Selina, obvs) to care about something as trivial as Christmas. :o
Was it before or after he was framed by The Penguin? 🤔
