I'm Positive The Spider-man Day Celebrations Are At The Finale

Well, I don't like the idea of a Spidey movie being formulaic but then again, I'm a tightass, so there...

But wouldn't it be good for Spidey to blaze a trail in the movies rather than follow the footsteps of Clark Kent. I wish he was the 1st...

It all happened in the comics. There is not one thing you can name in the films that might be similar to Superman that didn't also happen in the Spider-Man comics. It's simply an ignorant theory from people who don't know about the comics.

Not to mention that the Superman 3 thing is completely based on rumors.

Spot and Kangeroo also "happened" in the comics, but I pray, and believe, they will never see the light of day in the movies. This should be so... lucky.

ok. let's hear how you would've made the spider-man trilogy. apparently, you would'nt have used anything that's ever been seen on film, because that would be stealing.

and...go.

For one thing I would draw strongly from the comic books. I wouldn't steal ideas from the Superman films. How unoriginal and lame can you get? *coughraimicough*

Seems that it would be some sort of BIG thankyou for Spidey. Be cool to see how this plays out, i think it's interesting.

Ummm, already established that these "similarities" came originally from the Spiderman comics. Therein lies the problem. Those of you saying Raimi is stealing from Superman need to realize that before Superman(movie), there was the Spidey comics. So Raimi is stealing from the comics... the source material... which you're always accusing him of not doing enough of... will you please open your eyes!!!!

It's very silly to think Raimi's love of Superman hasn't influenced the Spidey films.

It would then be equally silly to not acknowledge that all of Raimi's life experiences has some influence on all of Raimi's films, SM included.

My point is this... there are some on these boards who are accusing him of "stealing" the story from Superman. Check the timeline. All of the key similarities originated in the Spidey comics, some 10 to 15 years before Superman was made. That is a fact.

If Raimi is stealing, where is the Peter Parker birth scene in one? Where is the father sacrificing his life for the son(yes Uncle Ben dies, but as a victim of crime)? Where is the death of the girlfriend? In two, where are the four villains who are punishing the son for the actions of the father?

Shall I go on? The similarities occured first in Spidey comics, so you must give Raimi the benefit of the doubt. If you still don't get it, then you are beyond redemption.

I'd say it comes off more as an homage, than any actual theft. Peter opening his shirt(with the costume underneath) in the second film is a good example.:o

he opens his shirt the same way in the first one too, always thought that was kind of a Superman rip.

I haven't seen so many similarities between the Superman mythos and the Spiderman movies that I would consider Raimi ripping off of Superman. The few bits he pops in there simply pay homage in my eyes.

I get a very Spider-man feel from all the movies, and while there are similarities I still think that the essence of the Spiderman comics remains in tact in the movies. Now he just needs more quips.

MoviePeter isn't the same kind of wiseass his comic counterpart is.:(

Actually, Superman ripped off Spider-Man. I'm not just talking about Superman II ripping off a Spidey comic, I'm pretty sure that Superman borrowed that shirt thing from early Spidey comics.

I wouldn't know really, I know comics well but not quite that well. Superman did start it's run before Spiderman (Superman started in the 1930's and I believe Spiderman started it's run in 1962), so the likelyhood of the comic book version of Spiderman doing that first is slim, but possible I suppose.

It doesn't really change that Raimi meant to reference the scene in Superman.

Omfg This Has Ruined Everything!!! Lol Omg I Refuse To See Spiderman 3 Because Of This One Little Things Lol Omg Teh Not Roxor!

1) Spidey Day. I'll wait to see how it plays out before I really judge it.

2) Number of villains. I've always wanted to see the Sinister Six in the movies so four villains doesn't seem to be that big of a deal to me.

3) Ripping off Superman movies. I see it as more "homage" than "ripoff" as well. Then again, I'm not so hardcore about comic movies being a live-action replay of a comic I read years ago. As long as it's not "Batman & Robin" or the first half of "The Hulk" I'm usually pretty fine.

4) Wisecracks. I always found this a bit of a problem but I get over it pretty quickly.

Wisecracks are good to have for an occasional laugh, but to many of them would have made the Spidey movies very campy if done wrong.

um..."You're the one who's out Gobby. Out of your mind!"

Only if theyre written like that.:o

Do you think spidey will be in his black suit by then and tell everyone off.

LOL!

This Spider-Man day thing sucks IMO. Reeks of cheese. A huge fan parade for Spider-Man?? Yuck :down

Spidey is the loner hero, fighting against the odds, putting his neck on the line for a city that hates him no matter what he does. That's one of the things that makes him such a great selfless hero.

It's just a feeling, but whereas most have said the thank you spiderman celebrations are during the movie, i see it more as the finale after spidey has defeated Venom & New york are thanking him for saving them.

It would be a good way of closure if this were a triology as each of the movies have ended with spider-man swinging to solve a new problem, but through this ending it would represent that the public have embraced spideey as their saviour.

I see that working, but there will be a lil more to the ending

we need a cliffhanger, it make the movies soo much better cuz we expect a sequill.
