How long before one of the usual suspects asks Gunn about it on threads and he debunks it by saying it can't be in pre-production because it hasn't been given the greenlight....

Over hypothetical scenarios at that lol

I hope he does. Just to annoy people , so we get some more whining in here.
In all seriousness though, January seems a bit too soon. Still think it starts in March given that this movie likely needs a lot of pre-production given the sets and what not.

On a serious note with Superman coming in comfortably under the batman at the box office both domestically and WW i no longer fear for Gunn overstepping creative control. Matt Reeves has all the leverage and I have no doubt if him and his team get annoyed theyre either ignoring him outright or him and Dylan Clark are going straight around him to Zsaslv.

The Batman trilogy is the biggest and most valuable comic book property WB has right now period.

Filming dates are always subject to change this early in pre-production. So it's likely that they've set a tentative start date for January, but will move the schedule once they have a better idea of things to come.

Gunn was never going to overstep creative control. They have been nothing but transparent about allowing Matt Reeves to build out his vision.

I feel like there's been a lot of maliciousness surrounding James Gunn as the co-CEO of DC Studios.

Yeah...like In don't even like Gunn but some people read some sort of malevolent intent in his actions or things he said when he is a friggin open book.

He had no interest in messing with Reeves and has proved it since day 1.

Nah. If memory serves, the first movie started production at the end of February 2020 and we started getting casting news in August/September 2019. Roughly 6 months ahead of production.

So if we're looking at March, maybe sometime in October.

That sounds about right, actually. The main cast were revealed some time around October and shooting began about 3-4 months later. So, I agree with there being news between October-November. Losing our minds for another 3 months seems fun.

The Batman Part II is happening. Warner Bros is not just going to sacrifice $700M like this. I really don't get the anxiety about this. We know why it took so long. And The Batman was just as long a wait. And it was fully worth it. And The Penguin, too. So let's chill and look forward to another story set in this universe.

i find it hard to believe they are shooting in spring. that's so long. the first one's turn around was faster, and this should be easier with the foundation of the universe already built
