Emma Stone is my favorite actor currently working and I would have been ecstatic to see her in this. Not surprised she turned it down. She's at the point of her career where she can do anything. Without knowing what role this is, hard to say who would have been better.

It's crazy how she keeps outdoing herself. Bugonia was on another level for her.

I think they are going for an Andrea Beaumont/Julie Madison type of love interest. Both ScarJo and Emma fit perfectly in a film-noir type movie in terms of their looks and acting styles (and have done several films in that genre). That old time film scarlet look.

With the caveat that it’s from Sneider, it sounds like ScarJo did take a pay-cut for this and pursued it pretty aggressively. Makes me feel like she’ll be putting her all into this instead of it being a pay cheque gig (a la Jurassic) which I was very worried about. It sounds like she loves what Flannagan is doing w/ Exorcist too (caveat - also from Sneider), so hopefully these 2 projects let her stretch her skills in more commercial work

Totally. The big thing with her is you can immediately tell when she cares and when she doesn’t.

Emma Stone would've been an incredible get, no doubt. I mean shoot, put her and Pattinson in anything together immediately. But I guess she's already on an incredible run and doesn't "need' this, whereas ScarJo might actually be hungry for a high-profile role she can really commit herself to and from the sounds of it might just be more keen to be in a Batman movie.

Makes me wonder about screentime and size of the role though if they couldn't agree to Emma's pay demands. Cause if it's a crucial role you'd think they'd fight harder for their top choice.

...unless this is all public negotiation tactics playing out.

Very curious what you mean better fit visually?

As in having unique prominent facial features.The first thing that comes to mind is Tim Burtons Willy Wonka if that makes sense.

Rob has a very square jaw. Zoe has very strong cheekbones. Paul has a very round face. Collin has very thick eyebrows, but he disappears in the Penguin makeup phenomenally. Andy has large expressive blue eyes. Emma has wide deep set eyes.

Scar has more of a classic and timeless beauty. There’s nothing that really stands out, at least to me. She has a very well put together face.

Matt said it himself. He grew up on '66 and putting those four in a film together was his homage to what made him a Batman fan, so...
