While this thread will also be for random drawings/videos/whatever, right now I have a purpose, and it is purpose that defines us. Anyway, watching Batman:TAS and The Batman they both portray Batman in relatively the same fashion, with him as the main character. But in Gotham city, Batman is a myth, and criminals fear him, and It feels like that's never really shown in past animated series. So I had an idea for a series called Shadow of the Bat, which focuses on the enemies. Batman himself rarely speaks, is only ever seen as a black silohuette, and never appears in a scene unless the enemies themselves are there as well. Also, to show the fear these criminals have for Batman, when he shows up, the backgrounds get all abstract and weird. This effect would strengthen or weaken depending on who the villain was (massive effects for common thugs, no effect for Joker, etc) Here's a quick test of this idea here, just to sort of illustrate what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdgmuIjRJV0

Here's a model sheet for Batman, as I said, a silohuette. Yeah, the ears are freakin' huge, I'm a Kelley Jones fan:

And here's a model sheet for the Joker, inspired by both Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson:

Any comments or criticisms on the drawings, video, or idea welcome, I'd like to get as much input as possible before I start on a little one minute pilot (which will take a while to finish.) Thanks in advance.

Pretty cool idea.

It might be nice to see it from the common mans perspective as well

This morning I drew up a Scarecrow model sheet inspired obviously (I hope) by the Batman Begins scarecrow. The Joker model sheet was drawn over 6 months ago and colored, though the colored file was lost in a computer crash, and it just got re-colored and made look more Ledger-like today as I got excited about this project again. In my opinion, this Scarecrow design is way better than the Joker, so I will be re-doing the Joker to look more like Heath Ledger's Joker. I also decided on a template for the model sheets, so here is a new Batman model sheet a well.

Well, I redesigned the Joker to look more like Heath Lefger's Joker. I like it better than the older version, but I still think it's missing something, opinions welcome.
