Today I had my second viewing of the movie, this time in IMAX! However, there were some pretty serious issues with the sound mix. Many times the music was just too loud compared to the rest of the audio. This made me especially sad as Gordon's end speech was completely drowned out by the rumbling of the music. For me this wasn't too much of an issue since I already knew it, but, I had taken my family to see it in IMAX, and I was disappointed that they didn't get to fully experience this amazing closing the way I did. I mean, I told them what the speech was... but I'm no Oldman :p. The screening I atended at a regular movie theater had no such problems.

Did anyone else experience similar technical difficulties?

Yeah, I've only seen it in Imax...and the three times I did the sound would make the talking to diffult to pick up. At the end it was hard to hear what gordon was saying ...

Saw it on Imax for the midnight showing and the sound was fine.

Just got back from seeing it a second time(on a normal theatre screen) and the sound was still good.

Just saw it the 2nd time on a regular screen, but the music was too loud and some dialogue, in particular the end speech, was drowned out. A tad irritated, but it is still the best movie ever the 2nd time around.

both times I saw it in IMAX the music drowned out the dialogue in spots.. pissed me off to no end too

Actually, after viewing it the third time, the music was louder than the dialogue, and I was at a regular theater. I think the bass was too high

I too couldn't hear ***** cuz of the music.

Second time I saw it in IMAX (Mississauga) the sound was iffy for the first scene but it corrected, the first time in Toronto the sound was perfect. :)

it's not just IMAX. the same problem was in my regular theater as well.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the IMAX mix.

Regular theater was easier to hear dialogue.

from what im hearing its a common problem with the speech scene.so no imax is not to blame, its the sound mixers for the film. They mixed the music too loud, and the dialog too low..it happens...but its not the theaters fault.
