Everytime this show comes up, my mind automatically goes to the "brutalist" architectural style/era. And I wonder if this show is related to it?
Absolutely not. nope. nada.
I'm not sure but I remember Hungarian movie Sátántangó is 7 hours and 20 minutes long.Dramas often have a very specific pacing and tone, im not sure if you can keep the emotional aspect of Dramas up in a 3 hour movie.
But im curious, what is the longest runtime for a Drama? I would like to check that movie out to see how it is paced and all.
If you can hold peoples attention with a Drama for 3 hours, do it.
There arent that many Movies in general out there that go for 3 hours, so singling out superhero movies when its not that common, is a bit weird.
But i get what he means.

Gone With the Wind was almost 4 hours long. And I think Titanic was 3 hours and something. But, for the most part, most movies nowadays aren't that long.Dramas often have a very specific pacing and tone, im not sure if you can keep the emotional aspect of Dramas up in a 3 hour movie.

Yeah, his appearance in Iron Man 3 was controversial and his old man makeup in Prometheus still cracks me up even though I generally like both of those movies. But then at the same time, he was in back-to-back Best Picture winners, The Hurt Locker and The King's Speech. I forgot he was in either of those actually but I haven't seen them in well over a decade. So glad to see Guy Pearce in a movie that is getting such acclaim. I love the guy, but he’s appeared in some real garbage over the years. I remember trying to watch some stupid movie he was in where a bunch of bikers take an entire town hostage and I honestly felt really bad for him.

It's uncanny! Actually, Aykroyd's makeup somehow looks better for a movie that was made two decades earlier.![]()
Along those lines, you could also say the same thing for Covenant with the one scene he had in the beginning with Fassbender. It does! I couldn’t believe how horrible Pearce looked in that movie.
I will say this for Pearce’s Peter Weyland though. He gave possibly the best performance in Prometheus aside from Fassbender. Unfortunately, it was in a promo for the movie and not actually in the movie itself, lol.
