Considering that JMS completely BUNGLED a chance to "revamp" Dr. Strange in STRANGE, and the longer his ASM run goes, the more questionable it gets, some Thor fans may be a bit concerned about his placement to revive Thor.

Well the good thing is that he will hopefully leave either ASM or FF to another writer. It would be ridiculous to give one writer 3 flagship titles at once, unless JQ really has a ***** for JMS.

I wouldnt call Thor a flaship title.

Nice art to bad JMS is writing guess I won't be reading Thor any time soon.:(

Marvel's been willing to do this with Bendis, Millar or Brubaker at times (and DC does it with Geoff Johns), so why does it seem so strange?

Marvel'd LIKE Thor to be a top seller again, but the question of whether it happens is another story. Marvel, interestingly, denies that "name power" sells books, while simultaneously relying on it with some relaunches and such to sell titles. This is one of them. Oeming is critically seen as a better writer for "mythical" stuff, but the namepower ain't there. JMS, on the other hand, has namepower. But naturally, Marvel would never admit to that sort of thing directly.

:( How I wish he was writing Thor he was made for it.

There's rumors that Oeming is doing another Beta Ray Bill series....

I really wouldn't be surprised if JMS is the writer for Thor though. It seems like his name was one that was mentioned a lot with the project since volume 3 ended

Meh, Immonen's art has never been very good to me.

 Im sold!

I'd rather see Oeming on this JMS.His love for mythology translates so well into his work.See Ares for example, kickass stuff.

Well, this may further cement my theory that Jeph Loeb is going to be doing the writing duties on Amazing Spider-Man in 2007. If JMS is going to be leaving any title to do Thor it's gotta be ASM, especially with Loeb slated to be doing an ongoing Spider-Man book.

And I don't see Loeb doing a second tier Spidey book. This may actually be good news for Spider-Man fans, bad news for Thor fans, depending on how you view JMS.

I have to see how he handles the end of this FF arc to judge really.

I lik JMS. ASM is ok and I like the F4 arc thus far. His stories in ASM have been good due to his storytelling and the characters he brings out. Diggler, Morlun, even that spider thing that looked like a moth are good characters. So i'll be buying Thor just like I have in the past before joey q f'd them up!

I hate JMS on ASM, but liked/loved his other stuff. Ill give this a shot.

It didn't say anything about Immonen being on the book, they just posted a piece of art that Immonen did for a Joe Fridays but wasn't used. He posted that piece on drawingboard.org a few days ago and said nothing about being the artist on Thor.

I wouldnt want him on Thor anyway, and most artists can only handle one ongoing at a time. He has Nextwave as well.

MY GOD FAT JOE Q DON'T YOU GET IT OEMING IS MADE FOR THOR!!!! YOUR A ****TY EIC!!! OEMING'S RUN COULD BE THE next Simonson with Devito as the Penciler!!! DAMN I HATE YOU FAT JOE!!!!!!!!

Immonen did good work on Thor in the Death of Odin arc and near the beginning of the King Thor saga. He drew the very effective 'Nuff Said issue, too. I would be glad to see him return to Thor. At the very least, if that is indeed a promo piece, at least it seems that we'll be seeing the classic Thor in the comic, rather than some new take on him.

JMS has been hit-or-miss for me for a long time. He started out very strong on ASM, then peetered out to strings of mediocre arcs with a hiccup of greatness here and there. I didn't like his Fantastic Four at all. But who knows? Maybe Thor'll be more up his alley. Oeming would've obviously been my first choice for Thor, and it's unfortunate that Joe Q is too dumb to realize what a perfect fit he is, but maybe JMS will only be there for an arc or two. His name is sure to draw more buyers than Oeming's, given their respective levels of recognition in the writing department. Maybe that's Marvel's plan. Doubtful, but maybe. But odds are, even if JMS absolutely sucks on Thor, I won't drop the comic for a very long time simply because I've been deprived of Thor for so long.

I effin love Immonen.:O

I'm in....

^^Yeah, I love Immonen on this, but JMS is kinda disappointing.
