I know the idea of the bat gun in the comics came from its appearance in burton's films and i believe there were a few other elements from that series to make it to the comics, so far has the nolan franchise been felt anyways in the comics?

A bit of the Ra's Al Ghul stuff made it in, in terms of the designs of the fake Ra's being used for Ra's Al Ghul in some flashbacks. The League of Assassins looks a bit like the League of Shadows in some versions. One artist showed The Tumbler in the cave. That's about it, I think.

I know that the Narrows, which originated from the Nolan films, have been mentioned at least twice in the comics.

The Lucius Fox R&D division thing in B&R issue 2 seemed like an obvious nod to these movies because I don't recall ever seeing anything like that before in the comics in reference to Lucius. Usually when he's brought up so is the wayne foundation and wayne enterprises in general.

Not to mention Dick Grayson's Batcave is beneath Wayne penthouse. =p

I took that as a nod to the books from the 70's (often regarded as the bat books best era & the ones Grant grew up reading) more than anything else.

there have been a few nods, but nothing real.

Wasn't aware of the Lucious Fox bit, or the mentions of The Narrows.

That's from the 70's. That idea existed long before Nolan's film utilized it, and it came back into the comics several years before THE DARK KNIGHT came out.

Even the Wayne Tech supplying gadgets thing was found in the comics long before BATMAN BEGINS.

Hmm i haven't read that many 70s stories at all but didn't Bruce live in a normal penthouse instead of a roof pentshouse? I'm not trying to argue "ooh im right, just so you wait!" but just pondering, thats all. ^^

PS. Didn't Nolan movies also effect that James Gordon met kid Bruce Wayne after his parents died and before he moved to LA/Chicago for a while.

^ a penthouse is the top floor of a building. or it isn't a penthouse :cwink:

I thought gordon came from Detroit or New York as a cop? What was he doing in Chicago and LA?

Gordon was moving from Chicago to Gotham in the beginning of Year One. I can't recall him ever living in New Youk, Detroit or LA.

In the 70's Batman closed up Wayne Manor and moved his operations to Wayne Foundation/Enterprise to be closer to when a crime happened, he had a mini-Batcave underneath the building with a secret entrance to go in and out unnoticed and lived up in the penthouse.

If you can find this comic you read that has you confused get back to us.

Joker having smile scars, or at least smile/mouth being enlarged due to cuts
