In a Barbie World: How Barbie Decimated the Superhero Cinematic Civil War Part 60

Talking (or messaging) with friends while watching or very soon after is part of the fun. I used to love the binge format but now I rarely have time to do that and also by the time I or a friend have watched something the conversation is already old and the smaller elements of an episode are no longer fresh in the memory. This would be better unless they have any specific reason not to do it.

Right, but I feel like there had to have been some logistical reason why for the most part most these streaming services chose to drop these things at 3/4am as opposed to when everyone is back home from work. I just...dont know what that reason is hahaha

I appreciate the new practice of Disney+ dropping shows the night before. It's much easier for me to catch it at 9 PM than it is for me to attempt to pay full attention to them while on my lunch break at work the next day.

Maybe competition from other primetime shows? Who knows, it seems very illogical but maybe it would make sense if we knew the real reason. Glad to see it change though and hopefully that is a common practise going forward.

Because they were treating it the same way a lot of other tech companies treat digital releases, like the music industry. They tend to refresh their servers at midnight PT.

I’ve learned something today! Time to log out of work and take a nap. :D

Yeah, this is great news IMO and better late than never because those late night/early morning episode drops never made sense to me, especially if Disney is trying to go for strong ratings out the gate.

I'm surprised they didn't realize it earlier but at least something good is coming from them premiering Ahsoka on Tuesday nights even if the show itself isn't exactly doing gangbusters right now.

It also makes it a lot easier for me to avoid those early spoilers.

I'm guessing the Ahsoka time change was a success. I have to admit, as someone on the east cost, I vastly preferred Amazon's use of EST to drop, but the Ahsoka times have been even better.

Question, why havent streaming services been doing this all along and airing these original shows during primetime hours instead of just dropping them in the middle of the night when everyone's asleep? That seems like a no brainer now. Airing it during primetime makes these shows seem more like must-see tv events rather than "I'll try to sneak in an episode before I go to work."
Because Netflix does it that way and it's worked out pretty well for them so far.

Max drops HBO shows the time they air on HBO. Disney has moved because they're trying to boost their early streaming numbers to show them off. Netflix doesn't care about that. It's all about a long tail for them.

And CN/AS shows randomly whenever they **** they want.

I see X-men 97 is looking to do Inferno. As someone who has really grown to like Maddie, consider me... doubtful of them doing that story well.
