Suprised no one has responded yet..this has oscar written all over it IMO. Looks like strong performances from Jones and Theron. Another Strong film from Paul Haggis

Yeah it's Oscar bait,Charlize looks so different in this and it looks like hang dog Tommy is in another good role after the 3 burials of Melquadias Estrada,good to see Jason Patric as well.

I just got back from this, superb film, it balances it's drama and mystery/thriller elements perfectly. The whole movie is quietly played, Haggis lets the silence speak volumes, the emotions are restrained and painful, the movie at times is more disturbing than any gore horror could ever wish to be.

Tommy Lee Jones gives his best lead performance perhaps ever and Charlize Theron disappears into another role, giving her character a hurt dignity.

Saw this movie on opening weekend..like two months ago or something.. :p

I though it was really good.

Was this film originally called in the valley of Allah or is it just my imagination?
 
I missed it in theaters :( comes out on DVD on the 19th so i'll pick it up.

No, it's a reference to the story/myth of David and Goliath (the valley of Elah is where they fough).
