Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse tie-in comic

I was in HMV the other day and they had the trade of this (vol 1) for £11.99; but with any other purchase it was just £4.99. As I'd decided to buy a few things anyway I picked it up. I'm not a gamer but that hasn't stopped me enjoying the Injustice comics.

Has anybody read the Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse tie-in comics? Do they connect in any way with the original Infinite Crisis comic? Or is the Crisis of the video game and tie-ins completely it's own thing? (No spoilers please!!)
