Wikipedia Article said:
It is possible to "digitally ink" using computers, a practice that is becoming more common as inkers learn to use powerful drawing and editing tools, such as [[Adobe Illustrator]], [[Adobe Photoshop]], and [[Corel Painter]]. In digital inking, mistakes will no longer ruin a page, and if it is done in a [[vector graphics|vector-based]] program, the image will look good in any resolution. However, the process is considered by many to be more time-consuming.
There u go. Be happy.

seriously, its another case of LOOK AT WIKIPEDIA

its called india ink. this is gettin too technical...

This seem like a weird question, you looking into getting into inking?

More and more people are getting into computers. There's still quite a few of them that ink the regular way, especially if you want to sell the art later. I think that coloring is what's been done mostly in computers now.

BTW, there's a Fan Art forum in Community boards if you're into that stuff.

the large majority are still done manually with actual ink

Tracer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You really don't know what an inker does to simply call them tracer, even if just in jest. A good inker adds to the art and each inker has their own style. Some penciller's work great with some inkers and bring out hte best in pencils, sometimes you can see the same penciller in a different comic with a different inker and you'll almost think it's a different artist. The biggest job I've seen an inker do was in the Hawk and Dove mini from DC years ago where Liefield's art was actually pretty good and it was all due to the inker heavily giving the penicls a "face lift".
