Yeah, I wasn't completely sold on Lizard from the gameplay footage a few months back since you couldn't really get a good look at him but I'm really liking the design. The spikes are giving off a Game of Thrones dragon vibe which makes him more intimidating.Lizard looks pretty intense
Supposedly he did exist in his classic lab coat look at some point in this continuity going from the Halloween party in the first game.I will always prefer Lizard with a labcoat, but this looks pretty good
Venom, Lizard and Kraven are huge Spider-Man villains. But I hope we get more. Sandman and Mysterio would be great addition. One of my criticisms with the Insomniac Spider-Man games is how small / limited the boss roster (DLCs eXcluded) was for the past 2 games. And I didn't really have that reaction with Batman Arkham trilogy. And with two Spider-Men, there should be way more than we know so far.
When you break it down there are more main villains in the first Spider-Man game than there are in Arkham Asylum. They couldn't throw everything at us on the first go around. That goes for both series. We didn't even see the likes of Penguin and Two-Face until Arkham City.Venom, Lizard and Kraven are huge Spider-Man villains. But I hope we get more. Okay so i watched the boss fights in YouTube. So I faced Shocker twice, though I'm pretty sure those felt like a sub boss fights to me in the past, while Kingpin felt like an appetizer boss fight to me. Scorpion was used with Rhino, rather than a solo boss fight. I miXed up Tombstone with Hammerhead, that also felt like a sub boss to me similar to Shocker.Iirc, there was one boss fight in which two Spider-Man bosses were used, one was Rhino I think and the other was only used for that one. Taskmaster could be missed if you keep the side stuff iirc. Shocker was side boss iirc.
I didn't count Tombstone (I think his boss fight was for a DLC). I didn't encounter Screwball face to face in the main game. So its basically Sinister SiX + Kingpin. Not a lot to me. Miles Morales then had a lot less.
I think the Arkham games spreaded out their bosses better. I did everything in the base game of both Spider-Man 2018/Miles Morales, 90% of the time, I was beating random goons. If the first game, had more villains than Arkham Asylum, it certainly didn't feel that way to me.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure this Kraven and Venom are going to come with a ton of personality and leave a big mark.I think the villains in Arkham just have a stronger presence individually. And they're more evenly spread out. In Spider-Man the Sinister Six comes quite late in the game, and asside from Li and Otto, the rest are basically snarky thugs in high tech suits. Functioning as a gang, further reducing their individuality
The villain line-up in SM2 seems more individualistic, and wilder to boot. Also I'm sure that the marketed 3 aren't the only big bads
I'll agree with you there. I'd even throw Kingpin in there with Mr. Negative and Ock. Even though he's dealt with very early in the game he still leaves more of an impact than say, Electro or Vulture (though their team up boss fight is still fun). Scorpion got a little more time to shine with that mission where he poisons Spidey and you have to swing across the city for the cure. Rhino doesn't get to do a whole lot in the first game but after Miles Morales I'm absolutely sick of him at this point, although admittedly his boss fight/rampage through the mall in the beginning of that game is a lot of fun.I think the villains in Arkham just have a stronger presence individually.
